I usually make lasagna and serve it right away. We are going away for a few weeks and I would like to have a lasagna ready. My mother says it has to be cooked before putting in the freezer. Is she right? Thanks!

I cook the noodles, and make the lasagna. I do not bake it.
I cover the pan w/ clear plastic wrap and then tightly cover w/ tin foil. Don't just cover with tin foil -- or the pieces will stick to top of the Lasagna when defrosting.

I definitely bake my lasagna fully before I freeze it. I use eggs in my ricotta cheese mixture, so I wouldn't want to freeze raw eggs. You might want to freeze some extra sauce to have on the side.

I bake my lasagna all the way and when we have leftovers, I put it in a air tight container. When we want to eat it, I just defrost it, and it does just fine.

I also cook it before I freeze it. What I have done a couple times is to get the little foil loaf pans (the small ones) and I make up a few of them when I am making the lasagna, bake and then freeze the little pan it is a good "one serving" meal.

Thanks for the info. Guess I will cook it and then reheat it in the oven? It won't get too dry I hope, Good idea about the extra sauce. Thanks again!
