Las Vegas????

My mom will turn 70 this November and she has always wanted to go to Las Vegas. I would like to take her there this fall but I have no idea where to begin..I know Disney but I sure as heck don't know anything about Las Vegas. I feel like I have to take her because she did had tickets to go back in 2001..it was the Nov after 9/11 & I asked her not to go because no one knew what was going on yet & I was afraid something would happen to her..anyway, I really would like to take but but could use some help from anyone who has been there.

We won't have a car so we'd like a hotel where you can walk to most things on the strip. My MIL may come too so we'd need a room for 3. I know my mother wants to see the Liberace museum . Mom is a gambler..I am not (I have 3 kids so there is no money to gamble! ) I would just like to see a good show.

Any suggestions??? Thanks!

I would pick a hotel somewhere mid strip (Bally's Flamingo Caesar's Imperial palace). You can check out Vegas Watch . They have a discussion forum.

I agree about the strip. We stayed at The Mirage which is next to Caesars..great hotel, good quick dining options, as well as Danny Gans comedy show. Very funny! Another hotel that is in a great location on the strip is Paris! We ate dinner there and it is a beautifully themed hotel and right in the middle!
Great shows we saw were Celine Dion(amazing), Cirque's Ka (good but not as good as O), O, and Danny Gans. Would recommend all of them!
Btw, I am not a gambler but Dh enjoys it and I loved Vegas for the dining and shows!

I would stay at the Monte Carlo. It is close enough to walk to 4 or 5 and not to far of a drive to Ceasers , Wynn, and some other really nice hotels.

You can gamble anywhere, but some non-gambling activities I suggest are:

Exploring the malls at NY NY and Ceasers (check out the sky), the shark experience at Mandalay Bay, the Star Trek experience at the Hilton, the water show at the Belliago.
