one....when is it cheap season in Las Vegas?
two...is there a certain resort you guys recommend?

thanks!!

I enjoyed my stay at tropicania. I would not recommand Circus Circus I felt like I was in Cheese Zone whole time I was visting there. I'd suggest staying someplace around trop or new york new york towards that end of strip. i found other end to be much more spread out and dirty. jmo. I've heard MGM is huge and can take an hour to get to your room but it is a nice hotel from what I saw.

I believe the best deals to be found are in the dead of summer...July, August, mainly because of the heat. We have stayed at MGM, Mirage and Monte Carlo. Mirage was our favorite but on the higher end of price scale, incredible pool. Monte Carlo was excellent, they treated us like kings and the location is dead center of the strip :) MGM is massive, 5000 plus rooms, I kept getting lost in the several casinos they have, but thier service was excellent also.

We're going in Aug!! WooHoo.
Staying at Mandalay Bay :teeth:

I booked it as a package.......don't know if I got a good deal or not, but I'm happy with it.

I've been to Mirage, Flamingo Hilton and NYNY.
I liked NYNY the best - not to big, not too small, centrally located - just right! :)

As Patrick IL. mentioned, the summer is usually the least expensive time to go. The heat will kill you though! Of course, if you mostly stay indoors & only venture out when the sun goes down, you should be okay.

I would check out Flamingo Hilton as they often offer some good packaged deals. My fave place to stay was Bally's but it's not as "new" as the other fabulous hotels on the Strip. I really loved the location of Bally's (Flamingo Hilton, Bellagio, Ceasar's & Treasure Island are just a few steps away.) Actually, we used to get good deals at Treasure Island too & although the rooms are smaller than Bally's, it's a very nice hotel. The last time we stayed there, we had a view of the Pirate show...it was great....especially for our (then) 5 y/o son.

Have a great time & bring some good walking shoes! ;)

I have a friend who is there now, I just checked weather.com and it's supposed to be 109 on Monday! Yikes!

We stayed at Treasure Island 3 times. I got a good rate through their website, I think it was $49 one time for late September, but that was about 5 years ago (weekdays). Temps were still hot, high 90's. The rates are much higher for Friday & Saturday. One thing to watch out for - many hotels do not allow Saturday arrivals because it breaks up a room for the weekend. We like TI because it is easy to get from the front door to the elevators, many hotels it's a long walk through the casino. Their rooms were renovated about 3 years ago (last time we stayed) and they were very nice. We requested a pirate battle view room twice and got it. The other time we requested Mirage volcano view and got it, it was a great view down the strip.

We will be there in 13 days, going with friends that have a timeshare at Polo Towers(next to MGM).It will be our 1st time in Vegas and we are looking forward to seeing all the hotels.

It's that time of year We spend the summer in FL to cool off.:rolleyes:The air is really dry. If staying during the summer, drink lots and lots of water. You can get dehydrated really easy, especially when combined with alcohol. Debbie B makes a great point. A number of Resorts here do not have checkout or checkin on Sat. Rates are higher on the weekend and even higher still when major conventions are in town. It really depends on what type of experience you are looking for and how much you want to spend per night. Check out Expedia it gives pretty good info on Rooms.

Las Vegas will never be the same.;)

Middle of summer and december are usually when the cheapest rates are offered. I actually got 2 free nites at the Trop in December and I barely gamble. As a matter of fact I think I was the only one on my floor until the weekend.

Meriweather if you plan on using the pool at Mandalay get to your chairs early like 8am. From what other people have said the pool area gets really packed in early with little space to be found by noon. Have fun and wear LOTS of sun screen!
