Las Vegas or WDW?

Say you had the choice of Las Vegas or WDW - which would you choose? Now, keep in mind, you've NEVER been to Las Vegas, but you've been to WDW many times.
Actually, I'm in this same situation! I've been to WDW 3 times and Vegas 0 times. My husband and I would like to start a family in a few years, so it only makes since to experience Vegas while we still can!

But, after that trip to Vegas it's back to our pattern of vacationing at WDW! ;)

Another vote for Las Vegas. If you have been to WDW many times and never been to Vegas I think a new destination is worth a try. I love Las Vegas and can't wait to go back as there is so much more to do there than gamble. The shows are great, the hotels are amazing just to look around and watch the various activities at them - a gondola ride and the Venetian, watching the Bellagio fountains, watching the pirate battle at Treasure Island, watching the fountains and statues tell the Greek Myths in the Forum Shopping Mall just to name a few things. Plus taking a helicopter flight over the Hoover Dam and into the Grand Canyon is something everyone should do. And those who like rollercoasters will have a blast riding the various ones along the strip. But my favourite thing that I did in Vegas was at the Indoor Skydive centre. After our next trip to WDW next Christmas our next holiday to the USA will be back to Vegas.

Actually, we are in almost the same situation.

We will be going to Vegas next month for the first time. I posted another thread asking for advise on what to see and do while we are there.

Wow, this could be my post!!! Want to fly into LV, stay for a night and then take off and see the sights...Grand Canyon etc. Just drive and spend a few days in different spots. We have a dd but she will be old enough by then for mostly everything. (11-12). Any suggestions for great but reasonable places to stay as we drive?

Vegas is worth seeing to for all the lights, glitz and hotels. Having said that, I've been with dh and without dh and I've decided I don't care if I go back to Vegas. I'd rather go to WDW or some other destination. I'm sure you'll have a great time either place.:D

I think that's it!!! Vegas/Disneyland combo trip. I've never been to either of them. What a no brainer - thanks everyone, you've helped tremendously, as you always do.:D

And yes Dan, smoke drives me and DH crazy, so I'm sure we won't be hanging around any smoky spots for long. I'll go breathe the fresh, clean Disneyland air to escape for a bit.:D

We go to Vegas every year. Last year we did a Disneyland/Vegas combo trip. It was such a great idea, we may do it again this year. We did 3 nights at each destination, which was perfect for us. We used to live near DL, so we knew exactly what we wanted to see and do. I highly recommend the Grand Californian, if its in your budget. Its absolutely beautiful and has a feel similar to Wilderness Lodge. Its also great to just walk 5 minutes to DL and also enter California Adventure from the hotel. :hyper: If you're a Walt Disney fan, I highly recommend the Walk In Walt's Footsteps Tour at DL. ::yes::

I'd go to Vegas too. I am going back in sept. Went for the first time several years ago. Had a really nice time. Lots to do and see and more than just gambling.
Nothing wrong with vacationing other places besides Disney (but you'll always go back to Disney :)
Have a great time!

Just to remind folks, the Pirate Battle at Treasure Island isn't exactly a pirate show anymore.

My lovely, charming, dear fiance likes to call it the "skanky ho show".

Mind you, Treasure Island isn't exactly Treasure Island anymore, it's now "ti". And yes, they're going for a more adult theme. If you check out their website (www.treasureisland.com) you'll note at their main ad features a woman in a bra, panties and fishnet stockings and is for "Tangerine - a nightclub with a strip view" (and I don't think they mean Las Vegas Boulevard). If you click on "entertainment" you can see the new "Sirens of ti". They have a photo gallery where you can "witness the sexy sirens of ti"

So no, it's nothing like the old pirate show.

DH and I went to Vegas two years ago sans kids. We had a great time but we had had enough after four days. We will probably not go again. But it was worth seeing and now I can say I've been to the places they show on CSI.

Give Vegas a try. I love Florida and never wanted to go to Vegas. My brother took my husband and I for 3 days a few years ago. We were hooked. And we only gamble nickel machines. We have been back twice since, stayed in a timeshare both times. There is so much to do and see. Good food. Fun times. Make sure you see Big Elvis at the Barbary Coast.

i would pick when i'm old enough 2 gamble, Las Vegas, b/c i'm addicted 2 gambleing i swear!
