Now that our WDW trip is over with, we are thinking of going to Las Vegas. I have been looking online for a free Las Vegas planning DVD but haven't come across anything. It looks like it may not be as easy to plan a Vegas vacation as it was to plan WDW!! Can someone who has been to Vegas before tell me where I might start looking to find information on Vegas, possibly in the form of a DVD? I have went to visitvegas.com but I would love to watch a DVD of everything there is to do...sort of like Disney. Thanks so much for any help!!!!

There is so much to do in Vegas and I am not sure there is a trip planning DVD. You may want to try posting in the California & The West section of the Disneyland board.

I would recommend lasvegas.com, cheapvegas.com, and vegas.com for information. Hotels on "the strip" (the big tourist part of Vegas) range from 1* to 5* (with the prices to boot).

Good luck!

Vegas is awesome! I just went in October for the first time, and I can't wait to go back. There is so much to do, we were there for 5 days and and it took all of those days just to walk the strip and see all the hotels/casinos. The next trip I hope to see more of the sights and shows, etc. The websites suggested are great.....have a great time! :sunny:

The travel channel has quite a few episodes on Vegas. In fact there were some on tonight.

It's a fun place to visit.

I'm not aware of any Las Vegas Trip Planning DVD, but go to travel2vegas.com for some tips.

I have been to Las Vegas many times. The first thing to do is to go into the various hotel websites and register for promotional e-mails. I have received some great deals via e-mail. I would put my travel dates into Expedia or Travelocity to get some ideas on the various hotels and prices. I never book thru these sites, but they offer a starting point.

Since you are going to Vegas for the first time, I would recommend staying at a hotel in the center of the strip. There are many offerings depending on your budget. These would include Flamingo, Harrah's, Paris, Bally's, Mirage, Bellagio, Caesar's Palace and Treasure Island. Of course, there are many others, but these hotels are very centrally located.

If you have any questions, I will try to answer.

were also planning a trip to vegas in january for a girls weekend, and like they said before go to the hotel websites and sign up for the emails and i also love travel2vegas.com i am a registered memeber there also, i just dont chat as much there... but i have learned a lot from that site also

good luck and have fun, you will have a blast in vegas also

We went for the first time last month. Since we were only there for 5 days I didn't do a lot of scheduling. That worked out good since the time diffference was enough to keep us til 4am every night gambling! We stayed at the Bellagio and loved it. I booked two shows to do and one tour. The tour was just to the Hoover Dam with Pink Jeep tours. There was only another couple with us and it was so nice to get a personalized tour of the place. The shows were Jubilee, a topless original Vegas stle show, and O, a Cirq show. This left us plenty of time to visit just about every casino up and down the strip. We walked everywhere except to Freemont street where we took a cab. There are cabs everywhere and a bus line that goes up and down the strip but I needed the exercise after all that eating and drinking! We enjoyed seeing the styles of the different casinos. DH wanted to do the flying over the canyon tour but I'm not big on little planes so I told him next time. We like Vegas so much that we are now planning it to be a yearly trip! Have fun!

No DVD that I know of, but lots of good discussions over on the CA/West board right here on the DIS!

I would suggest you also look at www.vegas.com

They have several tabs to check out and give you the option of getting dining reservations through their website along with a host of other information such as tours to the Grand Canyon or Hoover Dam.

We go to Vegas a LOT so if you have other questions I'd be happy to try to answer them the best I can.

Also are you going as adults, taking the kids? What kinds of things are you interested in? Do you want to see shows? Eat at buffets? Lounge by the pool? There is so much to do in Vegas and you usually don't need reservations for most places though some have a pretty long wait depending on where you go.

As with many posters here, I'm a huge Vegas fan going several times a year. If you ask questions, you'll get a ton of info.

Let me also recommend www.cheapovegas.com as a good place to start reading about the various resorts.

yeah.. only 26 days till i leave for vegas
