Yes it was $8.50 per person for roundtrip. I am glad I found the shuttles because I heard the cabs were so expensive. I am guessing that our experience was just a fluke. I would try the shuttle again because it was so cheap. The shuttles run 24 hours a day so you don't have to worry about the time!!! One problem is that they wait for the shuttle to fill up so you might have to wait at the airport for a few minutes. Another suggestion is to buy roundtrip tokens their at the airport because it gets more expensive if you only by one way tokens. Sorry for the delayed response.

Not a fluke....same thing happened to us and the bellboy at our hotel says it happens all the time. They get your money and then *poof*.

For most of the shuttles, it's only a couple dollars more to buy the one-way and that's the way I'll do it on my next trip. Also, the cabbie on the way back to the airport said that if you're taking more than 3 people, it's cheaper to go by cab than for each of you to buy the shuttle passes.

As for shows, when we went in May, we saw Celine Dion and it was incredible! I'd recommend it any day, any time as the best show I've ever seen in Vegas. Not a bad seat in the house and the acoustics were just amazing. It was expensive, but very much worth it.

I'm going back in October just to gamble and can't wait to get there again!

I'll try to keep this short...I visit Vegas at least 1-2 times a year because BF's dad lives there, so I could go on and on!

In addition to the shows already mentioned, I'd also like to recommend "Mamma Mia" (don't go if you hate ABBA music though!). BF and I went last year and it was really an EXCELLENT show. I've heard wonderful things about "O" and "Danny Gans" as well (we are considering those this year, as well as one opening in the Paris Hotel in August based on music by Queen).

There are a whole slew of restaurants, but I wanted to recommend the restaurant in the Stratosphere. The view is spectacular and I actually really like the food there too. Pricier than you might pay elsewhere, but I think it's worth it (entree's probably $20-$30 depending on the item). If you don't have a dining reservation, there is a charge to go to the top.

Those taxi cabs are a rip off, they take you completely around so it costs like 20 bucks to go a mile. You have to tell them which was to go or they rip you off. I've used the taxi's, the shuttle and the limo shuttles that you share with other people. The limo was like 3.50 a person or something to that effect and they had a booth outside the baggage pick up.

I reccomend eating at Prime, Le Cirque and Picasso at the Bellagio if you want some super meals!

I've stayed at the Bellagio, Ballys, NY, NY, Excalibur, Monte Carlo and the MGM Grand if you have any questions

Count me in for a vote to see "O" - truly amazing and worth the $$.

Restaurants -

Try a brunch on Sunday since you will be there - the absolute best is at Bally's - it's $50 a person but includes all you can drink champagne and some out of this world delicious food. I have heard that the brunches at Bellagio, Paris and the Rio are good too.

DH and I love Delmonico's at the Venetian - it's an Emril Lagasse steakhouse restaurant - but the food was tremendous.

We also like the Top of the World on top of Stratosphere.

The restaurants at Mandalay look great - Aureole has a four story wine bar.

Nobu is at the Hard Rock if you love Sushi and Japanese fusion food.

Also at the Hard Rock is a diner call Mr. Luck 24/7 - it's not on the menu but they serve steak and shrimp for something like $5.99.

We also ate the the mexican food restaurant out at the Palms - it was decent.

I have stayed at TI, Tropicana, MGM, and my wife's favorite, Monte Carlo. Thier our lots of free things to do like the show in front of TI, along with just visiting the various hotels for fun. You could take one night and go up to fremont street which is the original "strip" They have covered the street with a roof they put laser shows on.

If you like magic, go see Lance Burton at the Monte Carlo.

If you are a rookie gambler, most of the major hotels have table game lessons in the morning. Its free. The San Remo (across from MGM and next to the Tropicana) has 2 dollar minimum tables.
