Las Vegas hotel reviews

For all of you going, please make sure to sign up online at each resort's website to receive internet deals. The emails I have gotten in the past month are crazy cheap for rooms. I was there in August and will be going again in 4 weeks. Although I do not like Mandalay Bay (too boring), getting a room for $35 a night is a good deal for anyone looking to stay for less. I'm staying at the Venetian in the Venezia Tower for $135/nite which includes breakfast. I paid 3 times that 2 years ago for the same room category.

I also got excellent seats at Love for $106 per person from an online promo I received.

momrek06, KA is an excellent show. It's my favorite of the ones I have seen in Las Vegas so far (I liked it better than "O", Mystere, and La Reve).

Wow, Pakey, thanks for that info about signing up on the resort's websites!!!
We have a few places in mind and would love to get a great deal. ::yes::

Yes, LOVE is dark for Xmas and looking over the different shows, we did see "O" in 2002 and LOVED it...but would like to see something else....KA looks awesome and has amazing reviews!!! :thumbsup2

Has anyone stayed at the Four Seasons? I noticed it had good reviews on Trip Adviser, but a bit worried about it being so far down the end of the Strip........how does this work with the monorail? Previously stayed at Caesars, the Mirage and Bellagio(for wedding) and loved them all!

Also would love to know your top 3 shows for a family: Have done 'O', Mystere, EFX, Blue Men
Debsx:hug:

The Four Seasons is at the very south end of the strip. I believe the hotel is attached to the south side of the Mandalay Bay, but does not have it's own casino.

The Mandalay Bay is not on the monorail that links MGM to the Convention Center, running along the back side of the hotels on the east side of Las Vegas Blvd. To get to that monorail, you must take a monorail that links Mandalay Bay, Luxor and Excalibur. Don't get off at the 1st Excalibur stop - wait for the 2nd. Then take the bridges that link to NYNY and then again to MGM and walk to the very back side of MGM to pick up the monorail.

As you can see - it's quite a trek just to get to the monorail from the Four Seasons. You would be better off cabbing it IMO. I personally don't think the monorail is great for getting around the strip. If you were staying on the strip, especially at a monorail stop hotel and attending an event at the convention center - then it makes sense.

I can't comment on the Four Seasons itself- just about the location. I've stayed at the Mandalay Bay and really really like it, but the location is a factor.

Sahara
pros--cheap, $1 beers,hot dogs & blackjack
cons--LONG walk to other casinos, pool blah

TI
pros--nice rooms, nice casino, great MX restaurant Isla, right next to Fashion Show Mall
cons--a bit north, blah pool

Mirage
pros--nice casino & rooms, decent location, nice selection of well-priced restaurants, GREAT pool
cons--tends to be upper average price, a little north of center

Caesars
pros--FABULOUS room in Palace tower; classy casino; cool pools; Forum shops have great shopping & restaurants
cons--usually pricey, long walk from room to strip

Flamingo
pros--good location, GO rooms pretty cool, great pool (but can be full of kids)
cons--casino glaring, kinda dirty halls, flamingo area smelled fishy

Ballys
pros--large rooms, great views, great central strip location, easy to get to strip, inexpensive
cons--south strip rooms very dated, casino blah

Paris
pros--nice casino, classy
cons--rooms just OK for price, pool blah

Monte Carlo
pros--nice, usually well prices, decent location
cons--kinda blah

MGM
pros--great casino, nice room, great pool, great restaurant choices
cons--south end of strip (not a fan), long walk to strip from room

Excalibur
pros--cheap
cons--location, dark rooms, no tubs

Mandalay Bay
pros--my FAV casino; great pool, rooms, restaurants, shopping
cons--location:sad1:

Fitgeralds
pros--cheap
cons--icky smellling rooms, downtown

Golden Nugget
pros--nice rooms, casino, pool
cons--downtown (dont' get me wrong; I love to go DT once a trip; but staying downtown sucks if your $ runs out--not much else to do...especially if it is too cold to sit at the pool; but love the cheap gambling, food, drinks)

OK...we have stayed twice each at Sahara (first 2 trips) & Mirage and numerous times at Ballys...it might be more than 15!

We've stayed at Mandalay Bay and Wynn - both are awesome - saw Steve Wynn leaving his hotel - cool! I would consider the Four Seasons or the Lake Las Vegas Ritz.

biddingfortravel.com lists some great priceline "wins" for LV hotels. I believe Four Seasons used to come up, not sure if it still does.

My wife and I are making our first trip to Vegas next month staying at The Venetian.
What are the views of the standard view room and is it worth the extra money to upgrade to a view of the strip?

stayed at the Wynn & Ballys.
Wynn is very nice but doubt we will never stay there again. Room was very comparable to our Palace Tower room at Caesars (comped!) except CP's bathroom was twice as big! It is a LONG walk to everywhere on the strip, and food/drinks were quite expensive (and most not all that impressive). Funny thing was, we walked all the way down to OSheas every night to gamble! Guess we should have kept our Ballys rooms for all 5 nights.
Ballys gets our business the most as we are typically comped there and it has a great location. Rooms are HUGE. We stayed in the South Tower this time...yes, rooms are dated, but we are in our room so little, that doesn't even hit our radar. We wander south one day, north another.
EXHAUSTED....

I've only stayed at Caesar's Palace and I really liked how it was so convenient because the Forum Shops are directly underneath it! The room was also very nice. I saw this sofa I really liked in there, but I wasn't sure where it came from. I guess I have to wait for my next trip out there to ask about it! :)

hey matthew i suggest stayed at Nikki Beach for next trip, this is fantastic place of vegas.
On my most recent trip of las vegas in this year, I was stay in My favorite place is Nikki Beach Club,
Café Nikki will make its debut on the Las Vegas Strip as a perfect complement to Tropicana Las Vegas Hotel and Casino. The menu offered at Café Nikki is a blend of American cuisine and flavors inspired by international dishes, and the ambition of the food makes it a worthwhile culinary journey. :cool1:

Las Vegas Restaurant

It is clearly an advertisement. This restaurant may or may not be good.
But to advertise a restaurant is against post rules.

I stayed at Bally's in January - got a lovely refurbished room in the north tower, not far from the elevator. The room was big, clean and comfy, with a view down the side street toward the Rio, and also could see about 1/3 of the Bellagio fountains. I was able to request a coffee maker. Bally's connects with Paris, making more food options and shopping an easy stroll.

Excalibur. We are staying there next year in Sept, but there doesn't seem to be any good things being said about it.Is it really that bad?We are staying there as its cheap for us and we saw a model of it in 1989 before it was built and thought it looked good.A long time ago i know.

Excalibur is what it is--cheap, basic. It is still safe & clean, but nothing special.
Personally I prefer to be a bit more mid-strip; I typically stay at Harrahs or Ballys (and have stayed at Caesars, Wynn--and nearly every resort in between!) but it looks like Imperial Palace will be the cheapest for me in Oct.--many many people REFUSE to stay there (honestly, I think most of them have never stayed there--many likely haven't even stepped in there!) But many appreciate what it is--cheap, safe, great location. Yes, rooms are basic (Super 8)--but who cares? I spend about 5 hrs/day in my room!
And most would say most would say Excalibur is a step above IP--you will be fine!
