Large Price Increases on Beverages

Casey's Corner. Hot dog $8.29

I know this not Disney and not near Disney

I was just at Ikea today... 2 hot dogs and drink......$2.00

Kind of looks like quite a markup.

That's true. What I'm trying t point out the profit margin.

I had a friend who had a pop corn stand. He worked the street fairs/carnival. At that time 50 cents got you a big bag of pop corn. He told me it cost him 2 cents to make it.

Ikea sells you 2 dogs for 2 dollars and Disney one for $8.29, that's a hug profit. That's why (DVC owner) I get my hot dogs at Publix.

That's how I get my ice and the fountains aren't that bad as long as you have ice.
I prefer using my cup as I can keep refilling and use it at the pools also. Plus, I throw my Jalapeño Margarita in there and can walk out of the park if not finished.

From Mexico?

I'm more a pineapple or blood orange cat myself ;)

I get that hot dog, a drink, and dessert for 1 QS credit. ;)

They are not...you are paying full price for rooms that are always now discounted.

You may save money...no question...but it is not "free".

Much better deal/value 5 years ago.
That was the point.

Plus 310 days a year they are not "free"

You realize that was a joke right?

I think I explained my thoughts on the cost of a WDW vacation in my PP. I would never buy the DDP. The FD promo brings the total cost to an acceptable level and I don't have to let the ridiculous cost of the food/drinks irritate me my entire vacation because it's all just credits at that point.

Sorry...

That one slipped through the five hole, ehh?

As long as you're talking about the tequila bar...not the slurpie shack outside ;)

I don't think they have jalapeño outside though...

Now I'm thirsty...

Lol, of course in the tequila bar. I'm usually giggling as I walk by with a real Margarita for the same price as the slurpies. Most do not realize there is a real bar in Mexico.

You should try the Jalapeño. It's made with cucumber also and is very fresh tasting. Not into the sweet stuff.

Who said I haven't had the jalapeño?

I've had damn near all of them.

The avocado one is good...the cucumber one is nasty - if I do recall correctly.

I'm not that adventurous with my Margaritas, and would gag on the avocado. :crazy2: Yuck, can't stand them.
Love the jalapeño though. Each to their own...

This thread is illustrating the "tree" from Disney that hides the "forest"

There have been many times in the past where the prices at Disney were a pretty good deal when compared to the rest of the country.

Now...is not one of them. Don't do them any favors with rationalization.

I mentioned it before, but when WDW opened, quick service food was cheaper at Disney than it was in the base exchange snack bar at MacDill AFB. I was really surprised to see that I could go to Disney and feed my family for less than I could on base.

Good point.

Don't forget that Coke products are virtually pure profit for Disney.

Rumor has it they don't pay anything for it and yes it is, that why you get unlimited refills at fast food.

Disney does not pay for the syrup for Coca Cola fountain drinks it's an exclusive deal with US Disney parks.

There you go. And now they are limiting the refills....for more huge profit
