Large Party Question - splitting it into 2 ADR's

Hey everybody, I'm gearing up a nab ADR's for our group in a few days. Due to the size of our group (14), I was just planning on calling at 7am to have a CM help us find times. However, upon reading some responses from some of you, I might try and get online at 6am and split the group up into two groups and my wife and I will try and find matching times for the places we want on each of our MDE accounts, instead of letting that valuable hour slip by without anything.

For those of you that by chance have done that, if you've successfully gotten ADR's for the two groups - do you have to wait until you arrive the day of your ADR to see if the two groups can be seated in proxity of each other... or is that "figured out" by the system given the names being in the same Family and Friends group? Hopefully my question makes sense. I just wanted to see if doing the two separate ADR approach on your own created difficulty down the road if you wanted the group to sit somewhat close to each other.

We had separate ADRs for our family of 9 in December, most made by calling but one or two online. The CM told me that everyone needed to be there 15 minutes early, and to check in together. I did that - went in person to the podium (didn’t check in online), told them the two ADRs were together and would appreciate being seated together if possible. We were seated together everywhere except Sci-Fi, which of course doesn’t have cars big enough! BTW all the ADRs were in my name, so the system does not automatically link them, so you need to tell the CM at the podium which ADRs are for your group.

You’re welcome! One more thing I thought of - many of our ADRs were early (4:50 for Sci-Fi dinner) or late (1:30 lunch at Beaches & Cream), not our choice but due to availability! I booked at 60 days, for the week leading up to Christmas.

Yep, I'm prepared to get whatever is available for the tougher to get ADR's (Beaches-n-Cream, Sci-Fi, Yak & Yeti, etc), and will likely try and get those later in our trip (past 60 days) to have the best chance of getting anyting at all. Thanks again!
