Large party of GTYs

We've sailed with DCL 4 times so far. We've always booked two GTY rooms, and so far we're 4 for 4 of being assigned connecting staterooms.

This trip, we're traveling with a large party and have a total of five GTY staterooms booked. One family member needs HA accommodations so her room has already been assigned, leaving four more still in GTY status.

Two questions:

1. Does Disney have some way of pairing up guests by last name and taking a guess at which rooms would like to be connected to which other rooms? We have two rooms with the last name Smith (for example) and two rooms with the last name Jones, so will Disney know that those are the rooms we'd like to have connected to one another if possible?
2. If not, has anyone tried to switch rooms with other members of their travel party after GTY assignments have been doled out? For example, if my wife gets a connecting room with her brother and I get a connecting room with my sister-in-law, will DCL honor a request to swap one room for the other?

DCL doesn’t care where anyone sleeps - you can swap around all you want. Just set up a payment method for each person so their onboard charges go to the right credit card. Also be aware each will need to go to muster for their assigned station, not for the swapped room.
