Are there good places for large groups? We are going as an extended family of 20 people. 6 of them are aged 9months-6yrs old. We want to do at least one character meal, and will be eating lunch/dinner in the park for 3-4 days. We are staying at a condo resort offsite for 7 days. Ideas?

A couple years ago, I went with 20 family members (making our total group 21--a mixture of adults and kids aged 3-11). The only meal we did together was the cape may character breakfast. We had one of the last seatings and while it took them awhile to seat us, there were very few other people there and the food was very good and still constantly refreshed even though they were getting ready to close. As far as the parks, the only place we ate together was backlot express at DHS and that was just because it has so much seating that we could all eat together at neighboring tables. Everywhere else we split up and some people went one place, some went another, etc. Hopefully someone else can help you out.

More importantly, welcome to the dis! pixiedust:

With a group that size you will have to call for reservations. Online reservations have a maximum party size of 14.

Thanks for your input. I didn't know I would have to call. We are hoping for just a two-three resevations then the rest will be on our own, or off site.

We've dined many times with parties of 20+. I've made reservations online (2 separate ones at times) and also called in to make reservations. Last year, we didn't have a lot of luck getting seated together (either from the online ressies, or the ones I called in, so that didn't matter), and had several different tables. If I recall 'Ohana, Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace were the only place we were all able to sit together, and that is mostly because the way the restaurant is set up to accomodate some larger groups. If you try for an earlier reservation slot (like when the restaurants open for dinner), you may have better luck.
We enjoy Chef Mickeys with the young ones, and also Crystal Palace. The character interactions are great for kids AND adults. :goodvibes
