Large group reservation question

I need to make two reservations this Sunday for our Thanksgiving stay. One is for 22 people at Ohana's Breakfast (Lilo & Stitch) and the other is for 18 people at Whispering Canyon Cafe. How do I go about doing this? I know I can't do it online. Is it even possible to get reservations at these restaurants for this large of a party? I get it that they will tell us we may have to sit a two tables. Instead of calling should I make two seperate reservations online by splitting the group? I can put one under my name and the other under my mom's since I have both of our reservation numbers.
What to do? Advice??

You can call the regular dining number and ask to be transferred to Group Sales/Dining for large group resrvations.

You can also contact Grand Gatherings for dining experiences that are exclusive to large groups.

We are a group of 17 and it is hard to all get in together unless we break up our reservations so usually we make 2 reservations. Even if they make 1 reservation for us they usually split us up.

Thanks for the information. I know about the exclusive grand gathering experiences but just not interested in them. I don't think the dinners are worth the money and the Safari one is not operational during Thanksgiving Week. I'd rather do the Lilo & Stitch breakfast than the Tony's Town Square Grand gathering event.
Don't know what I will do tomorrow morning... Hmmmm....

We are a small family (7) and we still have to split our ressies from time to time. We book 4 and 3.....maybe you could book different ressies but at the same time? I'd still call to make them though, they might be able to link them all under one number or something to make it easier. Then again, wonder if you call if they'll make you leave some sort of deposit on such a large group. If your group didn't show up, that would be a lot of empty tables. I suppose school groups like Pop Warner make larger ressies though....so I'm sure if you call someone will be able to work it all out for you

Disney doesn't link restaurant reservations. The best you'd be able to do with separate reservations is arrive together and ask to be seated together or near each other. They'll accommodate if they can, but may not be able to.

Hey all thanks for the advice. I ended up calling Wilderness Lode IPO since both my parents and my family are staying WL CL for this trip. I asked them about the two reservations we needed for a large group and if I should call somewhere in the morning or try to make them online but I figured they wouldn't take the request since the rest of the group is staying in other hotels on the property. Well the CM told me we could add the requests to our other dining requests and they would do their best. She also told me that both restaurants only have tables that hold up to 12 people so I would have to split the reservations. That is what I did - split the two reservations between my mom and I and asked that they be made for the same time. I also asked for it to be noted we were together and wanted to sit next/ near each other. Got an email from them today that all of our requests were confirmed. We got 'Ohana for 22 (table for 10 & 12) at 7:50 am...that is really early, but thrilled to have the ressie. AND we got Whispering Canyon for 20 ( table for 10 & 10) at 5pm.
Also was able to get everything else I requested - but no other reservations were for more than 6 people (my family, parents, sister).
Thanks for the help! Glad to know that staying CL helped for these reservations in the end!!
