Large crowds Labor day weekend?

We are going to the Happiest Place on Earth, August 30th until Sept 9th. I just realized that there is a holiday in that time frame. Am I looking at really crowded days here, during that long weekend or not?

I was there the last week of August in 2003, it wasnt that crowded but really really hot. Then in November 2004, nice weather but crowded.

So I really dont know what is going on.

Yes, you are looking at a really crowded holiday weekend. Labor Day is the "last hurrah" of the summer, and there will be tourist as well as local crowds there. It'll be as hot as your August trip, and more crowded.

But is it just the weekend that is crowded or the weeks befor and after also?

Well ... prior to, you have the normal summer crowds. That weekend, Sunday and Monday will be VERY crowded. It will drop off noticeably on Tuesday.

The two years we were there over Labor Day we really didn't notice a crowd increase - we did visit Animal Kingdom and Epcot though and avoided MK over the weekend.

We have been twice on Labor Day weekend. Up until Monday it was very crowded. But on Labor Day we had the MK to ourselves. We rode Splash 3 times without getting off. It was wonderful. We have pictures of the castle taken in the afternoon and not a soul was in sight.

We are arriving at the World on Sunday, Sept 4 and staying through the 10th. We purposely are arriving on Sunday so we only hit the tail end of the crowd for the holiday....it was my DH's idea - he figured that folks will be heading home on that Monday so their should be less of a crowd. We are pulling our then DS9 out of school....figured this would be one of the last years for it!

My wife and I were at WDW during the Labor Day weekend two years ago. It was not that crowded. It really cleared out on Labor day as many people left that day
