Large blue veins on face?

This weekend I noticed that you could see large blue veins going up the sides of my face from my jaw. From their position I thought they were the carotid arteries. I went to my docs and he said that while my blood pressure was up he didn't think that had anything to do with the veins showing up.

That was Monday, today on the right hand side you can see the vein go all the way up the side of my face into my hairline and you can see other veins branching off of it above my eye. WTH. I called my doc and am going in again this afternoon but they didn't seem to excited about it. Anybody have veins just show up like this?

My 9 year old daughter has a thin vein that is visible on her right cheek. It goes from the side of her chin to the side of her nose. It is very thin though and not super noticeable. Her doctor says it is just visible because she has very light skin. Have your doctor check it out though just to ease your mind.

Thanks kimblebee but it's not one that's always been there they just shown up in the last few days.

Anybody else have any ideas? My PI doesn't seem to know if it's serious or not. She thinks it may be related to some swollen glands I was having in my neck earlier in the year but I haven't had any issues with that for months. She wants me to go see an ENT. I'll go but don't think that's the problem.
