Lard Wrestling and Sleep Deprivation – A Dec. 08 TR

Aww WL is so nice looking your pics are going to come out great:goodvibes

We hope so. DH likes the rustic look of the place and I like that it is super green.

We are planning to wear blue shirts for our pics here. Do y'all think we should do bright blue (like royal) or light blue? DH is against "baby blue" but I think something a little lighter might work with all the dark greens and browns. Thoughts?

I am so grouchy that I can not find an updated San Angel Inn dinner menu. Both allears and the DIS have the old ones and lots of people have been coming back saying the new menus are nothing like the old.

I'm so stressed about this that I tried to talk DH into letting me book Tutto instead of this ressie. He doesn't like Italian food so that was a no go. There is nothing on the menu at Biergarten that I will eat (yuck! too many sausages!), he would rather shoot himself than dine at Akershus with the princesses, and we eat Teppan, sushi and Chinese all the time here. Restaurant Marrakesh was a HUGE let-down on our last trip and we already dropped CDF due to the poor reviews there.

I guess I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and go in blind. If nothing else, I will finally get to dine in the pyramid like I have always wanted to and they are bound to have good margaritas (one can hope.) At the very least, it will be an experience. :rolleyes1

Thanks for the info on the PS :thumbsup2 I will ask for the Poly  We were going to leave it, I'm so glad I read this :lovestruc

And thanks for reading my PTR :woohoo: there are more and more people posting about their Dec trips now ;) I have to spot at least one Diser :lmao:
I can't wait until I meet some people - it's such a refreshing change to be able to talk about Disney and not get funny looks :rotfl:

 :cool1: Just saw a HSM3 preview :cool1:

Hope you find a San Angel Inn menu :thumbsup2 I'm no help as we went in 2005, they did have Margaritas tho - they were rather large :dance3: very good :drinking1
I do hope you like it - have you been to the Rose and Crown? We're trying it for the first time this year.

I think a light blue shirt would look great - it's very green as you say.
Here are a couple of pics - I've tried to go for ones with views of the hotel and landscape

Hmmm I hope you don't hate me for saying this but I think that the darker blue may look slightly better then the baby blue...just my opinion :confused3 I certainly don't think baby blue will look bad though so either one that you chose will be great:goodvibes

That's the same thing I said to DH! :lmao: Have you noticed that all their food is the same color? :rotfl2:

Yes! And how many kinds of sausage do you really need? I do like their CS spot though. Good brats and sauerkraut.

Your photos are beautiful! I  your dress. That taupe color is gorgeous!

I'm pretty sure I'll be safe on the margarita front. I'm just concerned about the food. I finally just gave up and decided not to change. Frankly, I'm tired of changing ADRs!

Of course I don't hate you! I appreciate your input. Royal blue is my favorite color and one that works well with my skin, hair and eyes. Plus, DH isn't thrilled about light blue so I think we will end up with the darker blue. Thanks for chiming in!

Today is officially 47 days from arrival at WDW and a mere 43 days from our departure. Realizing this gave me a serious mini-panic fest as I realized just how much stuff I still have left to do.

So, in no particular order, here is my list. I know this isn't everything but it will at least get me started.

1) Find petsitter for cats
2) Update confirmed plans in Passporter
3) Finish park touring plans
4) Pick out pictures and decide on wording for Coral Reef menu.
5) Create packing list
6) Buy Space Bags for packing
7) Find in-room and in-park journals and decorate as necessary
8) Find shirts for Resort photo shoot

I have finished a few things:
- I decided to stick with our ADRs as they currently stand. I'm just tired of changing them. We'll love them or not. Either way, they'll be an experience.
- I set up the personalized menu at Coral Reef for DH. I decided not to do the diver thing. I'm afraid DH would be embarrassed so I'm just going to stick with the menu. The manager has confirmed that they can do it. I just need to send the pics and wording.
- I decided to do the smaller castle cake. We're already doing DxDP so will have tons of desserts the whole trip. I want to make a gesture by getting the cake but I don't think I want to do the whole big cake. Besides, DH really would throw a hissy fit if he knew I spent that much on a cake. Even though I don't have a problem with the cost, I think I will feel guilty for doing it. The little cake will be plenty and I'll just take my chances with the personalization. Besides, it's not like I don't have other surprises planned if the personalization doesn't work.

So, now that I have a list, hopefully I will be calmer. It hasn't helped yet but I can always hope!

I'm glad you like the pictures - I'm so glad we got married there it was so beautiful :goodvibes

Sounds like you have a few bits to do, I keep having dreams that we're heading for the airport and I forgot to pack, or we're there and I realise I left something at home - hate those sorts of dreams :headache:

I hope the menu and cake go well, I would love to be surprised by a castle cake - I'll drop subtle (or not) hints to DH :rotfl:

Month and a half to go :woohoo:

Good luck completing your list, you have time still so don't stress! :goodvibes I think you're right about the ADR's too, you're either gonna like it or you're not so you're probably better off sticking with what you have. (It all sounds amazing anyway) I didn't even think of the potential embarrassment factor when you suggested the diver and menu in CR...I feel like BF will probably react the same way as your DH would so maybe I will just do the menu too. Thanks for the update :)

My dreams are all centered around DH refusing to follow the touring and dining plans. He can't figure out why I'm mad at him when I wake up! :goodvibes

Yeah, DH isn't shy but he doesn't like being the center of attention. I think he'll get a kick out of the menu. I don't really need the diver for it to still be special. You're right about the ADRs. Plus, I just don't want to deal with them anymore. :headache:

1) Find petsitter for cats
2) Update confirmed plans in Passporter DONE
3) Finish park touring plans MK and AK, Day 2 Done
4) Pick out pictures and decide on wording for Coral Reef menu.
5) Create packing list DONE
6) Buy Space Bags for packing
7) Find in-room and in-park journals and decorate as necessary
8) Find shirts for Resort photo shoot Kinda done

I have progress! And I'm already starting to feel better. :goodvibes

2) Update confirmed plans in Passporter - I've finished transferring all info from print-outs to the pockets and added in the latest batch of confirmations. It's as up-to-date as it can be at the moment.

3) Finish park touring plans - I have finished our full-day MK touring plan and my day-2 AK plan. I'm still working on the others but I at least have progress.

5) Create packing list - The packing list is completed to the point that I know what I need to buy so that is good. We always seem to spend a fortune going into a trip so I wanted to get the packing list done early so I would know EXACTLY what I need to get. Thankfully, it's not much so that is all good.

8) Find shirts for Resort photo shoot - This one is giving me palpitations. DH and I kinda decided on Royal Blue shirts and jeans. I was planning for a polo and jeans for DH and I was thinking of a blue polo shirt and denim capris for me. I started checking around and I found a shirt like one that I already have that I absolutely love and that looks really cute on me. It's a baby doll style polo shirt and is super cute. The only problem is that it comes in Light Blue but not royal blue. DH is OK with Light Blue (because he pretty much just doesn't want to talk about it anymore at this point) but I'm torn now. I found another shirt in a different style that is the right color but not a polo so it wouldn't match DH's polo. Or, I could get the baby doll polo in the lighter blue and DH and I would match.

Help! What should I do?

Stick with the polos, even in different colors. Two shades of blue will be really nice and the polo theme is just so nice looking. Again just throwing in my 2 cents :goodvibes

Our polos will be the same color, but will be "sky blue" instead of royal blue. Do you think that would be OK?

I'm assuming that sky blue falls somewhere in between royal blue and baby blue and with that in mind, yes I think sky blue would look great! :)

Yes, that title is completely correct. We fly out in exactly 40 days from today and I'm so excited! Thoughts of the trip are first and foremost in my thoughts and dreams at this point. Fortunately, after my panic earlier this week, I am finally starting to feel like I have things a bit more together.

I have made some additional progress on my list.

3) Finish park touring plans All DONE
8) Find shirts for Resort photo shoot My shirt ordered. I will find a matching one for DH when mine arrives. Should be around Nov. 15.

My current dilemma is determining how to prep my touring plans to carry them to the parks. DH and I are anti carrying bags into the parks because we hate having to deal with a security line AND admission line. As such, we only carry stuff that will fit in our pockets. I will be carrying my small in-park notebook/journal with me and would like something a similar size. I'm thinking of formatting my touring plans and dining info on index card sized paper and laminating them. I can put the daily plans in my Passporter pocket for the day and pull them out the night before as I review my plans for the next day.

I think a 2-sided card will be enough room for all the info we will need to carry in to the park. Laminating it will make it sturdy enough that we hopefully won't kill it on wet rides. So far, this is my best idea for this info, but I'd appreciate any others.

Have I mentioned that we leave in 40 days? :teeth:

Make arrangements to get to/from airport
Get DH fitted for tux for wedding
Remind DH to get haircut
Purchase and send wedding gift
Choose ornament for Reception tree

Does the list ever end?

I feel MUCH better about our SAI ressie, now!

to bring news of zero progress. Instead, I will include brief mention of the Halloween party we attended last Saturday night. It was definitely fun and DH and I both had a great time. Unfortunately, we both got sick yesterday from something we ate at the party. Oh well, c'est la vie!

My costume for the party was particularly successful. I went as a little girl on her first trip to Disneyland. I wore a baby doll dress with a white felt Mickey head attached to the skirt (kind of like a poodle skirt thing), black tights and black Mary Jane shoes. I had my hair french braided into pigtails with big bows on the ends, wore my original DL mouse ears with my name embroidered on the back, carried my Mickey plush and a GIANT Mickey head balloon. Everyone liked the outfit and I LOVED it! I can't wait to see how I do in my work costume contest this Friday.

So, between the party on Saturday and being sick on Sunday, I basically got nothing trip related done all weekend and I'm totally OK with that. I feel much better about progress now that I have a complete packing list and my park touring plans are done.

We leave in 36 days and will be at Disney in 41 days!

Sounds like a cute costume!!
