I know there wont be time, but we were thinking of bring my dh's old laptop to watch some movies (probably disney) while on board..anyone else done this?

If that is all you are planning to bring it for, you may want to rethink it. There are TVs in the staterooms that broadcast all kinds of movies all day long. We watched The Spongebob Squarepants Movie and Cinderella. I think one of the stations just had old Disney cartoon movies and another had all Pixar films.

I'd rather enjoy the ship while you can. DVD's can always be watched at home.

I wish we had brought our laptop on our cruise last year. Sometimes it is nice to be able to watch a movie (other than the ones playing on the TV) to just wind down and relax. We will bring it on our Dec cruise this year.

we bring our portable dvd player with us and i enjoy it quite a bit. i watch the bargain bin at walmart and pickup dvds which i carry in a cd holder. i grab some for the kids and some for myself and my husband as well. i've also invested in a couple of pairs of cheap headphones (ours has 2 jacks) so movie viewing does'nt disturb anyone else.

this is extra beneficial to me because i tend to have insomnia-everyone else can sleep while i doze off to movie :)

I always bring my laptop with, it helps on the plane ride. It can be a hassle at the airport.

They play disney movies in your room all day. There are movies in the theatre. Don't drag extra stuff along. Remember...pack for the cruise, then take 1/2 out and you will be set.

thanks all so much for your info! you guys are great..cant wait for may 2006!

We're bringing my wife's laptop to download our pictures. Bringing along a few DVD's is a great idea. We carry them in a CD wallet when we drive to WDW to watch them in the van. I guess we'll just bring them along too! Thanks for a great idea.

We brought along our laptop for the same reasons others have said (download pics to free up more memory on the card, watch DVDs) and for wireless internet. There're times when Internet cafe is full. Also, each night we created our electronic file of daily journal and organized the pics we took on the day (renaming the file so it is more meaningful etc.). It sounds like a lot of work but sure good thing to do to slow down after partying all day... :rotfl:
