Does anyone have any suggestions for a laptop....pref. wireless at a reasonable price...................I would greatly appreciate it!!! It does not have to be real fancy................i am a real nerd when it comes to computers so i have no clue what i need or am asking for...............HELP!!!

The only thing you really need is to be sure it has an 802.1 card (pretty much all new laptops have this)- that is what will let you go wireless. You will need a wireless router too- but that will be purchased seprate. Other than that you can just shop for the lowest price laptop. I have an eMachines- it was $899 a few years ago- they are even cheaper now. I love wireless. Try and check Consumer Reports or Amazon reviews to see how people rate their computers.

I absolutely love my Toshiba Satellite. I have the M45-S331. It was about $1200 after rebates but there are cheaper models in the product line. I'm sure you can get a great one for under $1000.

Thanks.....so how do I search if i want to go the cheapest way i can.............thanks for the info............I knew to come here for help!!

I just purchased a Dell Inspiron 1200 for a fellow worker here for $499 plus shipping and tax....final price was $567.

Intel Celeron M360 - 1.4 Ghz Processor
14" XGA Display
256 MB Memory
40 GB Hard Drive
24x DVD-Rom / CD-Burner
Wireless 802.11G Card (free)
Norton Internet Security - 15 Month Subscription (NOT A TRIAL) (free)
1 Year Warranty (free)

1. Go to http://www.dell.com
2. Click on "Home and Home Office" toward the bottom
3. Scroll down to the area that has "Advertised Systems"
4. Enter this E-Value Code --- 11111-i1200z5

That should bring you to this $499 deal. You have to make sure to go through each option to choose the free add-ons. The wireless card, internet security software, and the 1 year warranty are all free add-ons.

System is not for graphic intensive project or gaming....but, is perfect for surfing the web, typing letters, e-mail, picture storage, watching DVD's, ICQ, playing kids games, etc....

Also...I used the Dell Home link from MyPoints.com to get 2 points per dollar spent....998 points. CreationsRewards and QuickRewards also has links to earn points/dollars. Just click on their link to get to the original Dell page and then start from my #1 up above.

If you need more help...PM me....

Good Luck...

I can show you the pretty much the same laptop from dell same $399. There is a $100 off coupon that works for that system. PM me an I'll give anyone who wants the info. It also comes with a free dell a720 printer. The only thing is it does not come with a wireless card. But you can buy them for about $15 now.

You can use coupon code FKP?5K580L7$4T for $100 off the Dell Inspiron 1200 but the code expires on 10/13

It will not work on the system she listed. That is a special offer and the coupon is not valid on it.

I got my Hewlett Packard Laptop from Best Buy. I waiting until a major holiday sale (in my case Father's day) and got it for about $750 after all the rebates. I couldn't tell you what exactly it has, but it has always had everything I ever needed! Good luck.
