laptop backpack????

Can those of you that have kids in college or entering college recommend a laptop backpack that will hold a 15.6" laptop and books? I can't spend a fortune on one but I also don't want one that will need to be replaced every year. He will have his bike at school to use to get to classes so I guess it has to be a backpack or possibly a messenger bag. I guess he's outgrown LL Bean because theirs don't accommodate laptops.

I have this one and really love it! It can fit my laptop, a couple books and two portable dvd players and still feel light on my back.

I have The North Face Recon backback and love it. It has a laptop sleeve and tons of room. It wasn't cheap, but I've carried it daily to work, and on countless trips through airports, and it is holding up amazing after almost 4 years.

Thanks for guiding me to North Face. I would have never thought they made laptop backpacks. They look like normal backpacks and they are waterproof. They one you have, Recon, is to small for my sons computer. His laptop is a 15.6" with a 9cell battery. I think we've decided on the Yavapai or the Borealis. They are under $100.00 and the reviews have been excellent. I even found a store a mile away that carries them. Thanks so much.

Kipling makes great backpacks with compartments for laptops. I have a 15.6 inch that fits perfectly with plenty of room and compartments for other things. The backpacks are really lightweight and well made.

I love it! I can't say enough about it. It is very durable; I have had mine for about 5 years now, and it is still in great shape. I love that the inside is orange, which makes it easy to find things.
Looks like it is on sale with free shipping right now. I highly recommend it. The one pictured here has some color, but mine is all black.
