We leave in 5 days...woohoo!! My youngest DD (9 months) will be a lap baby on the airplane. It is my understanding that she will also be a lap baby for ME and the bus transporation. Is that correct? So, I won't need her carseat?

TIA!

There are no seatbelts on any of the buses, Magical Express included, so you can't use a car seat.

My DS will be a lap baby for our Feb trip...do you have to pay extra for your baby's luggage (because I know I won;t have room in my suitcase for any of his clothes:rolleyes1) or does he get to take a luggage?? I would assume not since he is not a paying customer??

He can take his own luggage if he is paying for it!!! If he doesn't have a seat, he won't count in the luggage numbers.

One of the things we love about Disney...no car seats!!! In addition, if you want to take a cab for anything, the front desk of your hotel can call a cab with a car seat- you just tell them your child's size.

Thats what I thought but I wasn;t sure. Well I won't make him pay for his own...mommy will pay for it! :rotfl::lmao:

It depends on the airline. My son was allowed two bags (as well as a carseat and stroller) even though he was a lap baby.

what airline did you fly?? And also when booking and you have a lap baby is it better to call the airline directly to book or can you do it online??

K reile, it was with Air Canada. I've booked online and by phone and there wasn't much difference. The only time the reservation got screwed up was when we used a travel agent and she forgot to add the baby's name on my ticket.

K reilie -

If you book online just call the airline to let them know you will have a lap baby. They'll still have to give him a boarding pass when you check in (I don't think it's called a boarding pass, but a piece of paper that lets him/her through security).

You'll also need some form of ID for the baby - ask the airline what works. They may not need it for check-in, but they'll need it to get through security.

I've only ever flown Southwest with a baby - didn't have to pay for luggage (but SW doesn't have luggage fees). After I booked our flight I just called to add him to the reservation (honestly I don't know if they even needed his name or just the fact that we'd have a baby with us).

Have a great trip!

It must depend on the airline and airport, because when I traveled with DS at 1.5 as a lap baby and 2.5 as a ticketed passenger, we never needed ID for him. (We brought his birth certificate but never needed it.)
