Lanyards

Please help me understand where is the best place to get lanyards for my family. I can't seem to find them at the Disney store and when I do a search for them on EBAY, It just turns up pins.
Also if anyone has any good hints for getting my family started on our first pin trading Disney vacation, I'd appreciate it.

I looked on Ebay and what you run into is the problem that there are pins called ~~Lanyard Pins~~ (which are pins only found on CM lanyards and not for sale) and the lanyards for holding ID's which are only a thin rope. So even eliminating the word pin in your search isn't going to necessarily help.

As for where to get them. If you want a Disney one, your best bet is to wait until you arrive in Disney. They have 'starter' lanyards that come with 4 pins--2 to keep , 2 to trade. As far as 'loading up' on pins to use as traders when you get there, Ebay may be your best choice. You can buy pins at the parks...they start at $6.50 and up. On Ebay be sure to get pins that can be traded at the parks. They must have the Disney copyright on the reverse.

If you find a pin or pin lot on Ebay and want to check out the origin of the pin, try Pinpics.com. It is a database of Disney pins and has a great search function. This is not a Disney site, and the number of the pin is not from Disney but merely the order in which the pins were added to the database.
