We are going on our second cruise...just wondering...do we all receive lanyards when we check in? I know we get the ONE gift in our stateroom but wondering about the lanyard situation....

Yes, as silver Castaway Club members, each person receives a silver lanyard with your Key To The World card at check-in.
Do you get one every time you cruise or just at the start of the second cruise and then again when you start your golf level?

I read the cc gift is every time

Lanyards are given upon boarding each time, to all guests at that status. If someone in your party is not a Silver yet, they will not get one (at all).

Each person of Castaway Club Silver status will get a silver lanyard : ) Technically on our last cruise my husband got one too even though that was his first cruise, but I think that was pixie dust because we were cruising for our wedding : )

I thought everyone in the cabin received it based on highest Castaway Club status. Now the perks get a little muddled, like for example, non-Gold can't use the shopping discount, but get the lanyard.

Nope. I'm one cruise under than my family, and I get the lanyard for what I am (ie. In July I'll get a gold lanyard while they're getting their platinum) It's the room level thats highest status

Thanks for the clarification!

I think what you're thinking of is the stateroom gifts, where you get one per stateroom and that is based on the highest level in the stateroom :)

This. On my parents and my first Disney Cruise, it was my sister's 5th as a guest (she cruised prior to working for the cruise line and has cruised as a guest since - and yes, they accrue status) and she was the only one who got a lanyard.

DVC hands out lanyards to members regardless of Castaway Club status. This applies even if the member books direct with DCL or uses a TA.

Do we receive these at check in? We're DVC members going on our first cruise in march. I had no idea we would get them. I was going to buy some for my kids.

You will need to look for the DVC Kiosk. Sometimes they are located in the terminal. If not they will be on the ship.

I think this is just not consistently 'enforced'. On past cruises, others in my stateroom have received the lanyards, even though they had never cruised before, but on my most recent trip last week, they wouldn't give one to my sister (a first time cruiser). Thankfully, I was prepared and had extra lanyards with me from past cruises that she could use.

It doesn't matter if you book with points, "cash", TA, or DCL you will receive DVC "perks". Make sure you bring your membership card, in case DVC does not trigger (especially if you recently bought in). Stop by the DVC kiosk onboard to receive lanyards. We received a call today about our cruise Friday telling us how to get our lanyards and when the reception is.

That's great! Thanks so much for the replies!

Do you happen to know if post-4/4/16 resale members are eligible?
