Lanyards

Does anyone know where I can get lanyards? Do the hotels sell them too? My boys didn't have them the last time we went. I hear alot of hype about it so I think this time I'll try it out. How much do they sell for? So, if I got it straight they can trade with the CM and the Characters around the parks as well. I think my oldest (8) will like doing this? Are the pins expensive to buy? I'll have to buy them to get started, right? Can anyone help me out? Thanks

Lanyards are available at all Resort stores or Resort pin locations, so you won't have toruble finding them. Their cost should be $10.00, however they also sell lanyard starter kits that come with 4 pins on them and I believe those cost around $30.00 or a bit more. Also yes your kids can trade with any Cast Member wearing lanyards and the cost of pins ranges from $6.95- $12.95 + tax.

You can buy Lanyards At Resort Gift shops, DownTown Disney WOD store, Disney Pin TRaders and just about any store in the parks. The lanyard runs 5.00 or more depending on how fancy you want to go or you can get starter sets for anywhere from 15.00 and up depending on number of pins it has on it. The kids can trade with CM wearing lanyards if they so choose plus there is kid only green(at this time) lanyards that CM wear and pins on these can only be traded with kids. Pins run anywhere from 6.50 and up with most being 8.50 -12.50. You can find pins in outlet stores at times and on Ebay, DisneyShopping.com. CM can only TRade Disney pins. You can find more info on WWW.disneypins.com and on collecters board of the DIS. Also www.Dizpins.com is a great site to get info from.

I just purchased new lanyards for my family at the Disney Store at the Mall of America for 7.00 and they came with 2 pins each, these lanyards were 50% off and in limited supply. We bought all 7 that were at the desk.

I think that at WDW it's harder to find a store that does not sell lanyards than one that does!

Most stores, hotel gift shops, and of course pin-selling locations have them. It's a fun thing for kids to collect the pins. We always let our DD get a few for each trip we take as souveniers. They're reasonably priced and dont take up alot of space in our house!

Disney shopping has the lanyard starter set for $4.99 which comes with 2 pins. At least they were still available this morning. Disney stores also have these deals and you wouldn't have to pay shipping and handling. Disney stores also had 50% off pins with the cheapest only being $2.25.

Lanyards and pin-swapping is a lot of fun, but keep in mind that they can get very heavy. If you don't carry a backpack (or similar bag), you might not have anywhere to easily stash a lanyard that has become to heavy to carry around a very tired neck-- especially if it's hot/humid.
