I have 4 kids going with us in September (2,5,6,9) and we're thinking about getting them lanyards for fun (not necessarily for pin trading) what I'm wondering is, I've seen lanyards and also lanyards with a little zip-wallet/card holders attached. Is there any reason for kids to have a little wallet like that? I don't want them to have to carry more than they need to in the heat... maybe they don't even need lanyards...
Any thoughts/opinions? Thanks!

You might want to put your kids info in the wallet in case they get lost, cell phone number, name, resort location and room number etc. I have seen the lanyards with card holders on the bottom you could tuck a business card with the info on the back of it just in case. If the kids are old enough you could give them a daily spending allowance to carry on there own, for ice cream or little candies, penny presses etc.

Lanyards might not be a good idea for little kids for several reasons:
Most importantly, they could be a safety hazard if they were to get caught on something.
Second, the kids will probably play around with them and they are likely to be dropped or lost.
As far as identification goes, incase the parents get separated from the child, just put your cell phone number (or hotel if you don't have a cell phone) on a piece of paper inside a luggage tag and attach that to the child's belt loop.

Most people carry the lanyards to hold the room keys for park entrance and for using the fast pass machines. If you do get them ones for pins have them not wear them on any rides since they do swing around and sometimes the rubber backings on the pins can come lose.

Don't buy the one with the wallet. I think I spent all of last week nagging my son to stop playing with the wallet and getting it caught on everything....lol
