Is there any reason to get my 3 and 5 year old lanyards besides the "First Disney Trip" button? I doubt we'll be pin trading. I'm about to place an Amazon order and I'd throw 2 in.
Lanyards are mainly for pin trading. They used to also be a holder for your key card if you didn't have pockets, but with MB that function is gone. So I wouldn't bother unless the kids will pin trade.
My kids liked wearing their MBs on their lanyards. They don't like wearing watches or anything on their wrists. It was also easy for them to scan their MB from the lanyard.
My kids like their lanyards and used them for other things, like school trips to other amusement parks. I got the ones with the zipper pouch on them, so they were convenient for carrying money and gcs (my kids are older than yours).
We gave DD10 one for Christmas this year and she has used it for two trips. One trip included a Disney cruise so it was handy for the room key card. It has a zipper pouch that she has found handy for cash, ponytail holder and bobby pins, lip balm, and mints. One the cruise there was a pin making activity and she has that pin on there and has chosen to buy one pin with her allowance money on each trip which she has on there as well. On days she won't need her rain poncho it is all she brings to the park and avoids bag check. Next time I will hang a water bottle holder on it with a tiny water bottle. I think she got a little dehydrated two of our park days for spring break. She likes wearing it or the Mickey Mouse string back pack each day. I think they make her feel "Disneyfied."
