I'm looking for a lanyard / pouch for me and my boys who are 10 and 8.

I want to use it to carry our Navigator and KTTW card. Also maybe able to carry the wave phone. (Especially for my boys)

There is the DCL lanyard for $8.95 and there is the Passporter Pass holder for the same price but it looks bigger.

I have a leather fanny pack (don't laugh) that I LOVE but I think it will be too bulky for the cruise.

Any suggestions on which lanyard or pouch you like.

Maybe an adult version and a child version?

I don't normally carry a purse so its just for cruise type stuff.

I would love any suggestions or opinions.

Thank you.

My DH liked the Passporter pouch. I didn't care for it as much - I don't like something just dangling from my neck; so I ended up using my little travel bag even though it was much bigger than necessary. Now if the Passporter thing had a longer cord so I could put it cross-body, that would have been perfect.

My parents have something similar to the Passporter pouch that they've used on cruises - I think it came from LLBean. I'm not sure what it's called - maybe a passport holder or something.

The DCL lanyard is just that - a lanyard with a clip on the end. It's not going to carry a Navigator and definitely not a Wave phone.

Enjoy your cruise!

We all wear fanny packs at WDW, no worries!

I haven't cruised yet, but I have used a passporter pouch in the parks. It's big enough that I always take it off for pictures though or it would hide whatever character was on my shirt.

I plan to use a Vera Bradley fanny pack or mini hipster for the cruise. I will be carrying a wave phone, my own phone on airplane mode so I can use the calendar app to keep track of activities I want to do (don't want to fall asleep in a lounge chair and miss something!), and a camera. Not sure what else, other than my KTTW card of course, but probably a little bottle of hand sanitizer and a coue other little things.

My girls will be 14 and 17 and plan on spending most of their time in Vibe. They will need their wave phones and will probably want to carry a camera. I think they might just use a share a beach bag since they'll probably want swimsuit cover-ups with them too, but I will bring along their fanny packs in case they want them at all.

Everest makes a child fanny pack that my kids always used in the parks when they were younger. If you google it they are available from several places. They are good quality and the perfect size for kids that age I think. The strap is standard length, so they also work for adults just wanting a small fanny pack.

First time cruiser here, spoiler alert for stupid question :P

Does Disney give you a lanyard with your KKTW card, or do you have to supply your own? (I know the OP is asking about a different style, I'm just wondering if anything is offered through the cruise line)

You'll get one when you return for your 2nd cruise, not your first. They do have them in the gift shops.

A small fanny pack is best, imo. Or, my trick is to sneak things into the small backpack that my husband carries around all day! If you are a repeat sailer, you will get a cool Castaway Club backpack with lanyards in your stateroom when you board, so no need to buy a separate lanyard. :)

I just got a perfect cross body bag off of etsy.com, and the lady made it special for me and my needs. she was so nice, shop called verdigris collection. it is not too big. like having bag acrossed me, I didn't want to have to carry anything. I will get a lanyard for the card. etsy has fun Disney lanyards and wave phone holders too. just search Disney lanyards...etc. also ordered custom magnets for my stateroom door.

I can't make you ditch the fanny pack BUT I can suggest other options.

Cross body bags are HUGE right now. Not literally, you can get them in any size :) but seriously this is the greatest trend to ever happen in women's handbags because its actually functional!!! They have them at Walmart, Louis Vuitton, and everywhere in between. Much more convenient than the once popular wristlet.

Also, I've seen some girls use plush backpacks of Disney characters (Stitch, Mickey, etc). Cute in the nerdy on purpose kind of way. Plus the plush is soft and won't jab you in the back if you decide to leave it on during a ride.

If I am just going to be moving around the ship, I have my kttw on a lanyard. Don't carry other stuff. At the pool, I tie the card around a strap of my beach bag and stuff it in the bag.

Off ship, if going to beach I have a waterproof case, similar to the one on amazon posted above, but that I purchased at a dive shop. It is more expensive but it has never leaked.

If shopping off ship, I have a small bag with a long strap.

I hate carrying anything anytime. I'd wear my lanyard and put my phone in my pocket if needed. (add navigator must does the night before to your calendar.) When I go to the pool I throw my kindle, sunscreen, sunglasses ect in a little string back pack that you see through (so if I leave it on my chair while I get a drink, nothing is visible except the bag.)

At the parks I have a little neck wallet to hold passes, money, credit cards or whatever I don't want in my pockets. (mine is about half the size of the passporter one)

Thanks for all the suggestions on this! We have used the Passporter Pouch at WDW...they are plenty big enough and I had 4 children and one DH who did not trust with their own cards. ;) But I did find the a bit uncomfortable on the neck over time. DH has one of those waterproof ones from Typhoon Lagoon and they are great.

Etsy is always a fun place to shop and I think Coach make some nice cross-body bags as well...Is it too late to put additional Mothers' Day orders in? :rolleyes1

:hippie:
