Lands End water shoes

Can anyone review Lands End mesh water shoes? I'm thinking they would be good for WDW in June, water rides and stuff. Has anyone wore them there? Were they comfortable to walk in all day and did they work? They're pretty expensive, are they worth it?

If not, can you recommend another pair that would be good for that?

ETA: We have crocs, but I worry about them falling off the kids feet or them tripping in them because we've had some issues with that. Also, our family just doesn't wear flip flops, we don't like them.

I bought the Lands End water shoes last year for my boys and myself for a cruise we took. The would probably be O.K. for Disney, but I'm not sure they are worth the price or would be best. While they certainly dry much fast than tennis shoes, but if fully soaked they stay wet for a while and keep the foot damp. Another problem, not necessarily at Disney, when fine wet sand got in them you could not get it out.

If you don't want to do Crocs what about a sandal? Last summer I got the boys some sandals at Target that stayed on, but had neoprene like material under the velcro.

If you do want to try the Lands End look at the overstock section on their web site. That is where I got ours.

I wear the water shoes daily for water aerobics and do not find them comfortable out of the water.

I bought a pair of the mesh water shoes from Lands End before I went to Jamaica. I used them when we climbed Dunn's River Falls and they were great. I don't know if I would walk around all day with them though. They were comfortable, but I have only worn them a few hours each time I used them so far.

I had a pair for my DD and they rubbed blisters terribly. She only wore them the one day, but oddly faded to looking very old(not that she was ever going to wear them again anyway.)

We had a poor experience with their water shoes. They're heavy when wet, don't dry quickly, and, as a PP posted, wet sand doesn't come out easily. The sand drainage problem actually caused blisters on one of my kids. We love most things that lands end makes, but will definitely stay away from the water shoes from now on.

I got a pair for water aerobics, too, and they gave me horrible blisters. But I don't think they'd be that great for wearing all day. I usually love LE, but wasn't impressed with these.

Have you considered Keens? We all bought those our last trip and loved them. They dry quicky and are very comfortable. Way more so than Crocs, IMO.

Wow, I'm so glad I asked. I've always been happy with LE products, too, so I assumed they'd be great, but it looks like I should stay away. I think we'll go with sandals instead. I have one ds that would prefer his running shoes to sandals so I thought the LE shoes would be good, but I talked to him and told him about the bad reviews so he said he'd consider trying on some sandals. I still might buy him a pair of LE water shoes to swim in, he tears up his feet on the bottom of the pool somehow . I'll check the overstocks for them.

I will take a look at the Keens, I've never seen them before, what is a good website to look at?

I bought my dd a pair not very long ago and she loves them. We have not had a problem with blisters (yet!). I got them on the overstock part of the site for 4.99. She loves to play in them. I also got some sandals for my girls and myself that are both land and water sandals and I love them too. Depending on your size shoe, I normally wear a 7.5 or 8 in womens shoes, but can wear a 7 in LE kids shoes. Just a tip as they tend to mark the kids shoes down much lower than the adult shoes.

I'm not sure about the best websites, because I got them locally at Cabelas for DH & I and at Scheels for the kids. Here's a link to some on Zappos (which is probably NOT the least expensive place! ) But several of the sandals are very similar to running shoes. Kids' keen Sandal on Zapppos.com

We have the Newport and the Venice here. Both get thumbs up!

We purchased these several years ago at Sears - they carry Lands End - for the kids to wear to camp for "creek stomping" - I was glad I went to the store instead of the catalog because we were able to try them on and get a good feel. So even if you find a pair in the overstocks - go to sears and see if they have them and look at them in person and try them on to see how they feel.

On the other side Crocs makes a sandel as well as the "knock offs" you can find at payless shoes and other places.

Same thing happened to me. Although every water shoe I have ever tried has given me blisters. LE was just the worst. I wish someone made the kind with adjustable back straps in adult sizes.

These shoes were a pain in the neck. They were on sale( or clearance) last year...right before I took my Girl Scout troop on a trip to the beach and a hotel with a pool. Because they were on sale...we all purchased them. They became very heavy with sand and water, gave them blisters, and we could not get the sand out! A couple of girls had some from Wal-Mart...$4.99...worked very well!!!

The Land's End water shoes my be good for the water parks, but I definitely would not wear them to the theme parks for all day walking.

My kids also got blisters from the lands end shoes. We spend a lot of time camping in the summer so I thought they would be good for being in and out of the water but they only got worn once or twice. I now get them each a pair of Keens at the beginning of summer. They are not cheap at $45-50 but they last until they outgrow them so it evens out. I wear them too and I love them. These are the ones that I usually get. I like the closed toe, but there are other styles. REI outlet has a few pair on sale and until 1/29 they are giving an extra 20% off your outlet purchase.

I have also tried the Lands End Cool Wave Sandals about $22 and they really held up well too. They have a neoprene liner too so they are good for getting wet and drying fast. I just prefer the Keens for the closed toe, saves some stubbed toes running around the campground .

My picky ds said he didn't want a closed toe, I think we're going to go with the LL Bean Cool Wave Sandals, they have really good reviews on the website, too.
