Land's End return?

I bought my DD a backpack on Land's End clearance a couple of years ago. She didn't use it until this year. After 4 weeks of school, there is a 2 inch rip in one of the side seams, but other than that it's still in great shape.

My 2 questions are:

1. Is it worth returning for such a small rip or should I just stitch it myself?

2. I know they say a lifetime guarantee, so if I do return it, how do I go about it? Do I just call their customer service number?

I know these questions have been asked in the past, but I'm horrid at getting things to come up through search. Thanks.

I'd call customer service. Lands End is very good about returns.

DS received shoes/boots as a gift from his Nana. He didn't try to wear them until a year later when he discovered they were both the same foot. He called and returned them without a receipt and got a check in return.

If your local Sears sells Lands End merchandise, you can return mail ordered Lands End stuff there.

I didn't know I could return damaged items to Sears. I knew I could do something I wanted to return that wasn't used because I've done that a few times. I think we'll be making a trip to Sears this weekend.

Thanks for the info.
