Lands End or L.L. Bean for winter coats for the Kids?

Lands End didn't get bought out by Sears. They just have an agreement to sell Lands End items in Sears stores.

We have both Land's End and LL Bean jackets in our closets that have lasted years!

For my kids in particular for DD it depends on which company has the coat colors/snow pants/boot colors she perfers. DS doesn't have a preference.

I live near Boston and the kids walk to/from school (outside about 15 minutes each way). My girls typically have land's end coats and never complain about being cold. I have trouble with a zipper last year but Sears easily exchanged the coat. I tend to pick up land's end at the end of the season for the next year so find land's end to be cheaper than llbean for me. We now have an llbean store fairly close by but Sears is still more convenient.

I am now in my 3rd year of buying Lands End Squall Jackets and snow bib and boots. They go through a ton of washing as my DD's preschool goes outside all winter long so they take a beating and a lot of washing. DD#2 is wearing her sister's coats etc now. I have never had a problem with the zippers or anything. In fact I think many of her classmates also use Lands End too with no complaints.
