Landry's restraunt "Select" club

I just went to the website and it says that you need to enroll at one of their restaurants. There doesn't seem to be anyway to enroll online.:confused3

I had just emailed them last week, because I've been waiting forever to sign up for this. First their website said come back August, then Sept. They emailed me right back saying that I could sign up at one of their restaurants. I guess I'll be going to Rainforest cafe this weekend.

Just called Rainforest, and they don't sell the Select Club membership!:headache: They said you can use it in there place but I have to buy it at the Chart House restaurant in my area.
I'm not impressed with this Landry program!

I am in Grand Rapids a lot and they have a Charley Crab which is owned by landry's. I used to be a member of that club and tossed the membership card like 2 weeks before the site said you could convert the old membership( I was kicking myself). I will stop in there the next trip and see if I can just purchase the membership. I can never get anyone to go with me there to eat because you easily drop $75 a person w/o drinks. Maybe if I am lucky they will just let me purchase the membership. I will let everyone know.

If anyone is going to one of these places to get a card can you find out if we can order them online somehow, or by phone? I'm not having any luck finding where these are located and I know there aren't any within an hour of me. I tried to go onto the select club link and search locations but it only gave me a bunch around TX, LA areas :confused3

TIA

Dumb ~ we'll be right by a Rainforest Cafe this weekend but my mom won't be with us and her B-day is next month (wanting to use the perks @ T-Rex Cafe).

I called Rainforest Cafe, and was told that they don't sell the memberships there, you have to get them at specific Landrys "Select" locations only. (Near me, there's a Chart House restaurant). You can then use the Selact Club card at the other locations- Rainforest, and T Rex. Earning/redeaming points and prefered seating.
I just called the 'Chart House' to ask about the membership. You can't get a membership in another persons name, (i wanted to get it in my DHs name as his Bday is the month we eat at T Rex)- but they do sell them. Don't think I'll be able to get my DH to go across town to do this.:headache: I have been trying to get somewhere with this for so long!!! Now I may have to scrap that idea.:sad2:

I haven't read through this entire thread, but thought I would add that we joined this club last month because we enjoy the Landry's owned restaurants. In Houston, we have Saltgrass Steakhouse and Babin's Seafood House that both participate in the Landry's Select Club. We signed up in the early part of one week at Saltgrass and visited a Babin's the following week. The $25 was on our Select Club Card and was credited toward our meal. I think when I filled out the application I put the card under my name but put DH's birthday down because it's the next one on the calendar.

There are several restaurants listed. I can scan the back if it would help.

Hi Dustmouse,
If it isn't too much trouble, I'd be really thankful if you could scan post it. :worship: I have several Landry restaurants in my area, including a Chart House fairly close. But I'd like to get a litte more info to make up my mind, before I drag my husband out to dinner.

Thanks!:goodvibes

I would like to do this, get the card in my name with DHs Bday. I guess as long as they don't ask for my ID, it would be fine.

Ok, we are getting conflicting reports. One says you can use it, while anothe says you cannot.

I called both T Rex at DTD and my local Rainforest Cafe, and asked them both if the card was good at their locations. They both said that yes, the Select Club was honored but they just don't issue them there.
I have to say that I've been trying to get info on this for a while now, and I don't know why they make it so complicated.:sad2:

Here's a scan of the card we received. It was issued from Saltgrass here in Houston, so I'm not sure if the restaurants listed are specific to this area or if all the Select cards are the same. :confused3 Regardless, we plan to use ours quite a bit when eating in Houston, Kemah and San Antonio. :goodvibes

BIL just got me a card! He went to one, told him it was for his BIL and they said okay, no problem. They said the new card is starting in Oct so I'll have to register this one online when they get it here and then I'll get a new one (which is the select one by the sounds of it, they said it's good for many more restaurants than this old one) sent to me in Oct.
Thanks so much for OP for getting this started, with DH birthday in Dec and our trip over his bday that'll give us $50 for T Rex plus my My Points GC for $50!! :thumbsup2

What my Landry's Select card cost me. I have a Rainforest close to me, but of course, they don't sell it. I found the closest place to me as we are going to T-Rex this weekend so I wanted the card in my hand. I drive about 45 minutes each way to get to Charley's Crab. Put my .25 in the meter for parking, and it didn't work--gotta love Ft Lauderdale Beach. I'm thinking there was no one around so I run off into the restaurant. I had ordered some lobster bisque and lobster rolls to go over the phone so they would be ready. With my card it was over $53, then added a $10 tip. Came out in less than 5 minutes and I had a $25 parking ticket on my car.

So let's see:
gas: about $12
food and card $63
ticket: $25
meter: .25

So my card cost me a total of 100.25. Next time I think I'll stay home and eat soup out of a can. But I must say that was some yummy food and I got 2 meals out of it with a lobster roll left over. I will have the $25 to use this week and I will get my $25 parking ticket back in Nov when it is my birthday but then I will spend more than that for my dd and I. I'm thinking long time before I break even:rotfl2:

Edited to add: I was surprised and so was the bartender that you get points for the $25 you spend to buy the card. Last night I got the entire 53 points for the card price and my meal. No points for tip.

I also got my select card last night at a Landry's in Denver. I am here on a business trip and decided to pop over and pick up the card.

The manager said these cards are good at Rainforest and the card also states this too, I know a PP stated that they heard they were not, so I wanted to let everyone know.

I went on line and activated the card this morning and just so you know that if you register during your B-Day month, you will not get your $25 b-day credit to the following year, because the load it on the 1st day of your b-day month.
