Our flight will arrive at 1. Do you think it's possible to make it to the party at a decent time after dropping our bags off at the hotel? At this point we will be staying either wilderness lodge or coranado springs. We know our room isn't guaranteed to be ready, so we would just fly in what we would wear to the party and just freshen up in the hotel lobby bathroom. Thoughts?

If everything goes smoothly, you won't have a problem.

But here's something to think about: long delays are always a possibility. Are you going to be okay if your flight is significantly delayed and you not only miss the party, but you lose the money that you spent on tickets? If not, I recommend going to the party on another night.

If it goes smoothly yes. My brother's flight landed last year at 2:30 and they made it to Mickey's BBQ at 5:30 (had me biting my nails for them!) They met us at POP then we all took the bus to MK because we went to MNSSHP and they were off to the Fort. We were at MK by 5:00.

Our flight lands at 1:25pm and we are going to MNSSHP that night. We plan to get to the park by 5pm hopefully without flight delays. We may take a cab from the airport if we feel like it will be faster than DME. Of course we have no kids on this trip so we can change plans on the fly a little quicker. Good luck! Hopefully everything goes smoothly :)

We landed at 220 last December and had a party that night, was there plenty early enough. We were in MK by 4, and that was after a lengthy check in since online checkin has never worked for us.

Thanks for all the replies.

We don't have another party night. I'm flying down simply to book the bounce back for our "real" family vaca lol. I have convinced my best friend to join me. We fly in November 18 at 1pm. The next day we plan to close MK at 12am head back to resort for the bags and get to the airport (need to be there for 3am lol). Was really hoping to squeeze the party in. Do you think it would sell out? Would I be able to buy tickets in the air once we take off and I know we are on time?

Many of the parties do sell out, but some don't. There's just no way to know for sure.

You need to balance the risks vs. the rewards.

I would probably check flightaware.com to see how often your particular flight is delayed. That might help tip the scales one way or another.

You'll be fine if your flight isn't delayed (recently I've had delays between 2-4 hours.)

Your flight time is the scheduled arrival time. I traveled extensively for work and was frequently delayed on arrival. I agree with PP about possibly missing the party altogether. That would be a very expensive night.

If you take a cab from MCO to MK for the MNSSHP party what are you going to do with your luggage/carryons. the MK does not have lockers that are very big.

We've flown a lot as well, and the flight we normally take to Florida is rarely delayed, but obviously we can't control weather and other unseen circumstances. I may just risk it and if there are tickets when we arrive we are meant to go. If not, we will just head to the poky for a drink or downtown Disney and have our full MK day Saturday.

Everyone is talking about thanksgiving? When is that? Here in Canada it's in October. Would I be better looking at the week before?

Thanksgiving is Thursday Nov 24. It gets really busy because many schools are off for the entire week.

Thanksgiving is Thursday November 24, 2016 in the US. It is one of the busiest times at WDW

Take a cab to the hotel (Coronado Springs) then bus to MK. Hopefully room will be ready

Does it have to be a Friday night? The 11th is Veterans Day here and I believe that is Jersey week, so that party could sell out, but I think you have a better chance at that one being open than the 18th. If you could do the Sunday party on the 13th, I think your chances are even better.

Do you have a direct flight, or a connecting flight? Honestly, if it's a direct flight and the weather is OK, I'd chance it. I'd be watching weather.com or accuweather for the 10 days before flying, and if it looks like the weather is going to be amenable, and there are no big storms in the Rockies/Midwest, I'd do it. If your flight is on time, I usually figure it'll take an hour to get out of MCO and an hour to ride DME to the hotel. (I know there's no way to know for sure, but this is usually how it evens out for us). You could check in online, then go straight to MK when you get to your hotel.
