I agree COMPLETELY! You should send it in to put it in the brochure.

The Big looks so little!

I just love your TR. The Captain Hook photo is fantastic.

You guys, thank you so much! You just don't know how much your praise means to me! :goodvibes (I have to let DH read your responses so perhaps I can convince him to upgrade my camera. :rotfl: ) You all have seriously made my day! Also, my next update will be up soon. I had to work (from home) this weekend so that's put a kink into my weekend fun! Anyway, I hope everyone has a great day! :thumbsup2

Hey Crystal... hope ya'll were okay after the wicked weather you got over the weekend!

~nicole

p.s. Can I have your "old" camera? :confused3

:rotfl2:

Thank you so much for your concern, Lovebuzzandwoody! We did not suffer any damage from the storms, but I was definitely worried about what I would see upon driving into Atlanta this morning. Fortunately, other than a bit of police tape here and there, I didn't really see any damage, so it looks like the police and clean-up crews have been very productive.

As to my "old" camera (if there is *ever* a new one), if it wasn't already spoken for, I would send it to you. However, DH's business partner has offered to buy it (with the stipulation that I teach him how to use it - LOL). Sorry, Hon! However, if it makes you feel any better, Olympus has released several more cameras since mine came out, and, without a doubt, the newer generations have many more bells and whistles. You wouldn't want my old guy anyway. Have a great day! Also, if work is quiet today, I think I'll have another installment up. :yay:

 I wouldn't have a clue what to do with bells and whistles! I just point and shoot... and say a little prayer! Everyone once in a great while I surprise myself with a frame worthy pic!

Looking forward to more... popcorn::

Thanks for sharing with us!

We awoke to the morning of our last full day with such mixed emotions. Given that today was the date of our actual tenth anniversary, we were pretty sappy, with lots of “I love yous” and other mushy stuff. Since I got married at 18, there were many nay-sayers in my family who thought that we’d never see 6 months, let alone 10 years. We were also pleased to note that The Big seemed to have kicked her cough and runny nose – YAY! However, since today also marked the last “real” day of our vacation, it was a bit sad to think that tomorrow would find us stepping back into the real world. But, we had really big plans for our anniversary so it was difficult to be too sad. We had an "exotic rasul" in the morning and Palo for dinner!

Since today was a sea day, it was great to not have anything planned, and we definitely took our time getting ready for breakfast (which was, again, at Parrot Cay - we are so predictible). After breakfast, we spent some time character hunting, and were able to get a few shots that were “keepers.” There were so many characters everywhere during our entire cruise – the cruise really does beat the parks hands down for character interaction.

Anyway, after the character stuff, we hung out at the pool until it was time to drop The Big off at the Club so DH and I could get to our exotic rasul appointment.

Now, let me just say that when we were planning our trip, I knew that I wanted to do something very special for our tenth anniversary, something to finally get my DH into a spa. Since I had my first massage a few years ago, I have been begging DH to join me for a couple’s massage, but he has yet to do so. So, anyway, when planning our trip, I had always planned on just getting us the couple’s massage - - until I read about the exotic rasul on The DIS. I pitched the rasul to DH and, upon seeing his underwhelmed expression, promptly found the appropriate post(s) on The DIS so he could read all about it for himself. Evidently, my explanation *was* less than stellar because, after reading a few posts about the rasul, he thought that it would be fun to try. Essentially, in case you all don’t know, the rasul is a 50 minute “treatment” wherein you and your partner get locked into a room that has a shower and a sauna, and you are provided with a variety of salts, oils, and lotions to massage each other with.

So, after dropping off The Big at the Club, we checked into the Spa, filled out our corresponding paperwork, and let our guide direct us to our various changing rooms and lockers. Once we were changed, our guide showed us to our rasul chamber, quickly explained what each product did and the order in which we were supposed to use them, and locked us in. Well, DH and I apparently didn’t take very good notes because, the minute that our guide left, we burst out laughing because we forgot everything our guide told us with the exception of the salt (the first item). However, we eventually figured it out and, in the interest of keeping this Trip Report PG, I’ll just say that our rasul really was a wonderful experience, and it’s something that DH has declared we will do on EVERY future cruise we ever take. (Now if I can just get him to agree to those darn couples massages...)

For anyone contemplating a rasul, here is a list of things that hopefully will help you make your experience more pleasurable…err…enjoyable…err…fun!

1. Apparently Disney heard the complaints that there were not enough towels provided because you will get plenty of them when you go into your rasul “chamber.” In other words, sneaking in extra towels from Deck 9 is completely unnecessary. In our case, all of the towels (except one) ended up on the floor anyway.

2. Note that the floor area is going to be filled with water by the time your rasul is concluded so don’t place anything you don’t want getting wet (i.e., towels) on the floor.

3. The sauna is hot, hot, hot and I would highly recommend that you bring a towel to walk on while in the sauna because the floor is smoking HOT! I could also imagine that a man's nether regions could get overheated if he sat upon a particularly hot spot in the sauna. You might want to bring a second towel just in case.

4. Make a mental note which bottle contains the oil that is used to relax the muscles. That product was just heavenly, especially when it was activated in the sauna. That was the only product I was actually tempted to buy – but then I’d need a sauna to really make it effective, so I nixed that potential purchase.

So, there you guys go - a Highly Recommended from me (and DH) for the rasul! :rotfl:

Well, that's pretty much how I do it too except I have to fiddle with the knobs for 10 seconds before pressing the shutter button. I probably miss more than I capture with all of the fiddling I do. :rolleyes1 :sad2:

Oh, Elizabeth, thank you very much on both counts. I always said that I didn't really learn how to write until I started working at a law firm - LOL! I'll have to check out the Coach Outlet too. YIPEE!! :woohoo:

Upon leaving our rasul, we promptly “rescued” The Big from the Club. Unlike the day before, The Big was NOT ready to come with us, but I enticed her with promises of ice cream and swimming. We also told her that we would be taking her back to the Club in just a few short hours, so that helped the cause. Since The Big is a daycare kid I knew that she wouldn’t have any problems in the Club, but the fact that she wanted to say in the Club spoke volumes about how great the environment is in there. When we picked her up, she was rocking and rolling on the pirate slide. They had just gotten done making pirate masks with Peter Pan. Talk about FUN, right?

Anyway, we hung out at the Mickey Pool for a bit, ate some lunch, and decided to go back to the room for our mandatory naps. The seas were a bit rough that day, but none of us had any problems whatsoever letting the ship rock us to sleep.

After our naps, DH went and played a bit of Bingo. Sadly, he didn’t win a penny at Bingo, but he did not come back empty handed. He bought The Big and me matching Disney Cruise Line sweatshirts. I was a bit peeved at him because I had seen the price of the adult sweatshirts in the gift shops ($45) but he told me that he found my sweatshirt marked down to $25. Maybe the shops mark down the merchandise on the last day of the cruise? Anyway, The Big and I have been uber-cool this winter season in our matching sweatshirts.

We really didn’t do much after that except to hang out on the verandah and chat about what an incredible time we had on our vacation…until it was time to get ready for our dinner at Palo! In keeping with our early themed dinners every night, we booked Palo for 6:00 p.m., with the hope that we could still catch the Disney Dreams show that evening.

Now, I know that I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again here: DH and I are not foodies. We are very much “steak and potatoes” people, with a bit of veggies and other white meats thrown in for variety. We don’t generally “do” seafood or anything that consists of animal parts. Call us crazy. Well, when we decided to cruise, DH told me that he planned to sample foods outside of his normal comfort zone, and he actually found that everything he ate outside of his "zone" was really tasty. I, however, took the “don’t fix it if it ain’t broke” approach and ate delicious steaks every single night without complaint. Well, upon arriving at Palo, I stated that I was going to (again) go with the steak that night. DH declared that he was going to continue to press his luck with the “outside of his comfort zone” food sampling. He opted for the rack of lamb.

Before I get into the entrees, I just have to say that DH and I were so taken aback by Palo. We expected fabulous, and I can tell you it is first-rate all the way, from the décor to the incredible service. First, we got some pre-appetizers (who knew there was such a thing?) of white cheese and some sort of thinly cut meat. Both were wonderful. Next, we got our salads and, again, were very impressed. Finally, our much-anticipated meat arrived. My steak (the tenderloin) was just out of this world! DH, unfortunately, didn’t fare as well with his rack. He was disappointed, especially when I gave him a piece of my steak to try. Oh, dear, the steak was just that darn good. Finally, we opted for the soufflés for dessert. I guess because of all of the DIS hype, I was expecting to really be blown away by the soufflé. The soufflé was good, it was very good, but it was not my favorite dessert on board. That accolade went to this chocolate and nut (hazelnut, perhaps?) pie thing that was on the dessert buffet at the Beach Blanket. My second favorite was the white chocolate cheesecake that I ate on Pirate Night. However, any dessert is still a good dessert, and we didn’t go lacking for good desserts while on board. Umm, my last comment about Palo is this: the “palette cleansing” drink tastes a bit like lemon Pledge (but it does pack a wallop in terms of alcohol). I couldn’t finish mine (again, lemon Pledge doesn’t appeal to me) so DH drank them both. He said they made him a bit loopy in the head. And fast.

After Palo, we picked The Big up and made our way to the Disney Dreams show. I forgot my camera for this one (probably on purpose since I was so disappointed with my results from the previous night’s show). Disney Dreams was wonderful and touching, but we had a bit of technical difficulties right smack in the middle of the show. The ship somehow lost its audio feed, and the actors found themselves without any background music, so the show halted for about 15 minutes. The actors played it off well, but the show was not as magical as I’m sure it would have been had we got to enjoy it uninterrupted. After the show, we got back to our room, started the process of packing up our stuff, and went to sleep for the last time on the Wonder. *Sob*

The next morning, we hurried ourselves off the ship, cleared customs, and made our way back to Atlanta. We had a great drive home (except that the darn check engine light was still on in my car) and probably spent several hours discussing how much fun we had and how much we were looking forward to our trip in September, 2008. Oh, and the check engine light did finally turn off a week after we got home. Perhaps our Kia is a gas snob and doesn't like Florida gas? Who knows?!?

Now that it’s been a few months, I look back at our trip with such fond memories. DH and I realized during our trip that we had been misguided in not taking family vacations (with only the three of us), instead choosing to vacation across the country to visit our extended families. I kick myself because it took us 9 years of missed Disney vacations to make that realization, but I’m quite sure that we will make up for lost time. Anyway, I still stand by my statement that doing the Land/Sea was too little Land for us, but I can see how it would work for some people (perhaps those who have not been absent from Disney for 9 years?).

I want to thank each of you who read and replied to my TR – it’s always nice to get feedback. I’ve had a great time reliving my trip through this Report, and I can’t thank you all enough for your compliments. Thank you all again and please let me know if you have any questions. :grouphug:

Oh I am so sad that it is over :( I feel like it is the end of my vacation as well :( I can't wait for the Sept 2008 trip report...:rotfl:
