Our friends are thinking of doing the 4-day land/3-day sea trip. The price off of Disney.com sounds pretty good and I tried to book it separtely on the webiste for them and it seems to be a lot more expensive for some reason. First, has anyone ever done this package? They want the Poly, but no where does it state the view? Can you pay extra and upgrade? (I've gone on and on about Poly Concierge and now they are dying to try it;) )
Also, I thought I had heard you don't have to check in at the port or something like that if you book it as a package - is this true?
Thanks everyone!!!

The view is standard but I think you can upgrade although it will be pricy seems to me the pakage is cheaper as you are getting the land portion very under rack rates. The Poly is cat 6 on the cruise (it is a great pick we've done it once and are booked again:) )
Althogh I wiould recomend 3 land and 4 sea as the cruise will seem real short at 3 days
2. Yes you check in at the DCL counter at your resort and you don't have to do it at port just show your ID and KTTW its great

Second the vote for the 3/4 land/sea instead! We did this package in 2003 and stayed at the Poly. Didn't ask for an upgrade ... our room was great, even not being concierge. We were also in Category 6, and we loved our verandah on the Wonder. We are going again, only staying at the Beach Club this time, because we love the Stormalong Bay pool.

Is your friend booking through DCL? We never saw our luggage from the time we gave it to the airline until it magically (of course!) appeared in our rooms at the Poly. Then we left them to be picked up before leaving for Port C. and again, they mysteriously appeared in our rooms on the ship. Check-in at port was simple... the same KTTW worked in our stateroom door that we used at the Poly. At the end of the trip, we met our bags once more at customs ... it was all very simple.

You might see if they want to try Dreams Unlimited ... we got an extra $200 rebate when we booked with DU.

They are driving down from SC, so its only a 6 hour drive and I think they will do there own transfers and stuff to save $. (I should of thought of DU myself, since we used them on our last cruise.) Do they get the rebate for the total amount of the vacation? Like if the vacation cost $3000, they get the cruise rebate based on that amount?

I believe the rebate is on the cruise, and it depends on how much your stateroom is... it's been 6 months since we booked, but my recollection is that there was a range of discounts from $50 to $200 or more, depending on your package price. We are in Category 6 with 2 adults, 1 teen that counts as an adult, and 1 child, and our rebate was $200.
