We were on the scheduled 10/7 Dream cruise that is cancelled, so we will be calling Monday to book something else. Since we're supposed to get a discount on this cruise, I was thinking we'd go ahead and add a couple of days at WDW. But, when I tried to play around with the reservations online, it appears to take you out of the DCL website and straight to the WDW website, and you end up carting in two different spots. Is this something you have to call to do? Or is it even really a "package" discount or do you just end up booking each separately? Thanks.

I'm not a TA anymore, but I'm pretty sure you won't get a package discount for land and sea directly through Disney.

You can book them together by phone with DCL, but I don't believe it includes any package discount that you aren't able to do on your own. Most people do it as 2 separate bookings, which I think also gives you more flexibility.

Enjoy your land-and-sea vacation!

We booked them together, but couldn't find any info on our park tickets and resort. We called and apparently, it's handled as "will call" that you pick up on the ship. The issue is that it means you can't schedule fast passes or dining reservations ahead of time. Not good. They told us to cancel the "land" part of our reservation and just book separately, so that's what we did. The discount of booking the "land" part as an add-on to the cruise was only about $50 savings it turns out. Definitely worth booking separately and being able to schedule restaurants and fast passes. It took several phone calls between us and TA, TA to Disney, and finally the TA did a conference call with all of us together. I have to say, it's a terrible system.

Just to clarify... yes, you must have tickets in your MDE account to schedule FP+ in advance.
However, anybody can book ADRs 180 days ahead. If you are staying on-site, you can book 180+10 (so for the length of your stay up to 10 days) from your check-in date. That is the only ADR benefit to staying onsite. Tickets have no impact on booking ADRs.

I have heard of issues with tickets or length of stay and such with the "new" land-and-sea packages. Doesn't seem to be worth it. Easier to book things separately.

Not sure how to book ahead if you have no tickets and no reservation number. You can't use the Disney planning apps to book anything because Disney will not give you a reservation number for the resort reservation. All you will have is a notation on your cruise booking that you will be staying at resort. It doesn't lust dates or anything. We spent a lot of time discussing this with Disney TA and with Disney, and were told the only way we could make any reservations, requests, FP+, activity reservations, was to cancel our resort & park tickets thru the Disney Cruise land&Isra and book our land portion separately. It doesn't make any sense if you ask me. They couldn't give us a resort reservation number because it's listed under the cruise reservation number and that will not transfer over to the regular WDW system. We spent half a day on telephone with people trying to clarify.
