We are planning a trip to Disney in September of 2005, I know for some this is way far away but to save for this big of a trip it isn't far enough! I have questions re: room types and which resorts to stay in. I'm thinking of a category 6 room so we can stay in the Deluxe hotels, is it worth the extra money? What rooms are best on the ship and which resorts are recommended here?

Thanks for your help.

We'll be traveling with my sister & her family, my mom and my family of 6.

Another question... do we have to get from the resort to the Port?

Am going in 2 weeks cat 6 staying at the Polynesain. Will send you details when I get back. Right now I feel the benefits out weigh the cost. Can't wait to sit on the veranda and watch the sun rise and set over the ocean, and I always wanted to stay at the Polynesian. My sister is in a cat 11 inside staying at the Port Orleans. We will find out if it's worth the extra money or not by comparing the two rooms. Have a great weekend and hope to talk to you in a few weeks.:Pinkbounc :bounce:

ksumom,

We have done two land and sea trips, each at at Cat 6 where we stayed at the Poly. We definitely felt that was a great plan for our family (DH, myself and DS who was almost 5, almost 7 on each land and sea trip).

On each trip, we spent most of our time at the MK. Hence, staying on the monorail line was a big plus. We did 1/2 day at Epoct which you can also reach by monorail and 1/2 day at AK and took the resort bus. All the transporation options were great.

The Poly is fabulous, and you can get a lot of information on the resorts board. The theme is very casual, which suits our family well. The pools are fun and the great ceremonial house a super place to gather and eat. Also, the standard rooms are B-I-G. I think they are almost the biggest on property, so there is plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Both trips, we overlooked the quiet pool and enjoyed evenings on our balcony.

As a part of a Cat 6 land and sea we had an outside stateroom with a verandah. DH and I spentmany, many hours on the verandah while DS is in the clubs. Feel free to PM me with any questions.::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo :sunny: :smooth: :hyper: :D

Thanks for the input.. but I think we've now decided on a full 7 day cruise vs the Land/sea package. There are just too many choices! Thanks!

I definitely think the Cat 6 is worth the extra money because of the verandah. I always enjoy slipping out to the verandah to watch the sunrise. I'm the kind of person who doesn't like being out in public until ALL my make-up is on, so being able to enjoy the fresh air before I'm completely "presentable" is worth the extra cost to me.
