Hmm, I noticed land clearing along World Drive where the turn from there toward Epcot occurs. Not sure that it extends all the way to the bus/cab parking area though.
How is moving to renewable energy not "living with the land"?
Disney already has an extensive energy program to try to eliminate energy waste. Adding solar to its energy program was a natural progression if they want to be more "green"

That is true, I would imagine that with a solar project that large they will be going with an array that tracks the sun, which isn't really feasible for roofs and parking lots.
Plus installing solar on roofs in hurricane prone areas is certainly possible, but Does carry extra concerns.
The facility will generate "only" 5 MW, with is a small portion of WDW's total load. Their peak load is ~200 MW, which may or may not coincide with the peak output from the solar panels. Its possible (maybe even likely) that RCID's peak occurs at dusk or early evening during the summer when the heat of the day is still there but now the lights begin to be turned on.
