Land and Sea with 7 Month Old?

DH and I are considering a march 2017 vacation while I am on maternity leave (expecting, Due early Sept) we have been tossing around and combo WDW/cruise (prob not DCL as just can't afford anymore) trip, however was reading a bit on CC and most people on there didn't suggest cruising with a 7 month old baby.

Would you consider a land/sea vacation? if yes, would you do cruise or WDW first?

or just land or just sea?

Would love to hear from those who have gone down this route!

We did our first cruise when our son was 1. Our daughter was almost 5 and was ready to go back to WDW but our son was just too young so we did a cruise. It was the perfect option for an infant.

We did a land/sea last year (3 nights Dream then 4 nights at the Grand Floridian) and it was good. Our kids were 8 and 4 at the time. Although half way through the land part we were ready to get back on the boat.

As far as having an enjoyable cruise, I definitely think you can do that with a seven month old as long as you work your days around his/her napping schedule and are flexible. The great thing is that you are never far from your room (unless you are in a port.) WDW land trip could go either way. It depends on what kind of baby you have and the time of year. If you are going at a cooler time of year like November and have an easy going baby who will sleep in the stroller, then I would say go for it. If you have a fussy baby or are going at a hot time of year, it would be much more difficult. In that case, I would highly recommend staying at the Contemporary if that's within your budget because being able to walk to the MK from your resort is invaluable at that age.

One other suggestion: I would discuss your travel plans with your pediatrician and discuss whether or not it's a good idea to travel somewhere with so many people in close quarters without having had all of the major vaccinations yet. That would be my only major concern.

Our 1st cruise was when our son was 9 months old. We did a land/sea on that and I definitely recommend doing the land portion 1st if you go that route. WDW can be very non-relaxing and it was nice to go to on the cruise after that and just we relax.

We did a seven day cruise when our twins were six months. We had to move it back due to my pregnancy - I wasn't aloowed to travel when pregnant so we moved the cruise for when they were six months. It was one of our favorite cruises. The boys started sleeping through the night on the ship (the rocking helped them stay asleep I think)

I've done two cruises with a 6mo. It was easy because he couldn't crawl yet. He was happy to be in his stroller and was even happy to nap there while I was up on deck reading. My husband and I took turns watching him so we could each do whatever we wanted to do (meanwhile, my big kids were basically on their own). I usually took a nap during the baby's long nap because naps are awesome! We'll be sailing again when #4 is 6 months and she's the least of my worries. I'm more concerned about the 2yo

My youngest was 9 months for our first Disney trip. I was so happily surprised at how much fun she had. She loved all the music shows and would dance her little feet and laugh. We only did a few days though as I was still nursing and got tired quickly. I just don't know that I would want to pack diapers for an extended land/sea vacation!
