It's rather strange that this is a Disney Discussion Board and that very few posts on this board relate to Disney.

<font color=blueviolet size=4>I just counted the amount of disney related posts on the first page of this board.... 7!! There were only 7!!! We've gotta start gettin' back to what this board is all about... DISNEY!! I mean some off topic posts are ok... but it's the pointless posts to up the post counts, the repetitive posts (like fave music, a/s/l, etc.), & the congratulations posts that are kind of getting to be a pain. I mean I guess it's ok to congratulate people once they've reached 1000 posts, but for every 100 posts there seems to be a new congrats thread. Ya kind of hafta think.... How important is it to have a lot of posts. I would rather contribute a little information that useful, than a whole bunch that's like totally useless. Well I guess I'm gunna stop here... it's late & i'm tired. I hope you all understand what I'm saying, I'm not trying to insult anyone... I'm just trying to get the point across.

Oh, I forgot! This whole TB DIS cheerleader thing should be alrite, just as long as we're good & like follow the rules (no stupid posts) & maybe try to keep it to like one thread (& if it gets long we will start a new one cuz the long ones take up the bandwidth... dunno what that is though... hehe)

i dont agree.....because we're not posting "off topic" becuz were trying to rack up posts...i no me and my sis go here becuz...number one its a safe message board to post on...and itz the only one my mom allows me on.Plus no offense i LOVE disney as much as anyone here, but wouldnt it get alittle boring if EVERYTHING was about disney?I just wanted to say that becuz peeps r saying the only reason we go "off topic" is to rack up posts.which it isnt.

What if someone had a question they wanted answered about Disney, but there were so many off-topic posts that it just got bumped down & never got answered? I know that it doesn't always HAVE to be about Disney, but lately it has got really off-topic & i'm just saying that maybe we should start getting back ON-topic.

i agree. some of the posts are extremely off topic and very repetive. i've seen about 6 threads about people's favorite bands. while that's nice to get to know people, it doesn't need to be done 6 times.

I really don't think that "off topic" posts hurt anything. (although the favorite bands ones do get annoying after a while) If someone posts a question on this board about WDW, usually if people know the answer then they'll answer it, and if they don't then they'll bump it so people can answer it. Don't get me wrong, I love disney, but personally I think that this board would be kind of boring if everything had to do w/ disney.

to try to get back on topic I bumped up all the games and stuff.....umm...I have a few things to say.
ok yes..its OLD when we have 4 posts on favorist bands...b4 you post something like that..make sure to go look and see if its done.
also yes we are off topic..but you can do so many posts about disney b4 you run out things...Im sorry I start lots of posts...like whats your DIS rank and stuff...just b/c Im curious.
also I take offense to ppl saying that having a bunch of posts means they are useless...I dont do useless posts..I play the games,answers questions congratulate ppl and help ppl....Im sorry that I post more than most( I do about 50 a day or so) but there nothing wrong with that...sometimes it makes me feel bad..b/c lots of ppl are like oh! 3000 posts...she must do stupid post...I help ppl too..I do contribute info too...maybe you werent aiming it and me or maybe you werent...and yes some ppl with big posts do the some posts to bump up their total..but most dont...most are on the baords alot and help ppl...sorry to sound rude but it just makes me mad that ppl say that..it seems like its aimed straight at me.
also nothing wrong with other topics...as long as they arent like posts to boost your count or post that have been posted b4...dont be afraid to post about disney...I always check the whole first page and answer the posts I can relate too and I know others do too.

if we all wrote nothing but disney we would run out of things to say and be really really bored...plus we would run out of things to say...and y would they have a teen board if all your gonna talk about is disney...teens could then just posts on any other board..but this board is for teens...what do teens do best...talk.lol.

i understand what you guys are saying about how not everything should be disney, but when 90% of the posts are off topic (and off topic means not about disney, since this board is the Teen Disney board) i think that's a bit much. sure, i post to a lot of the off topic threads because they're there, but i don't start them cause it seems kind of stupid. the boards are meant to be used to talk somewhat on the topic of disney stuff, and they cost a lot of money, so let's try to use them for what they were intended to be used for.

This is just my opinion but..


I sorta view this board as the Community Board, but for teens. We can talk about anything and everything whether it be Disney or non-Disney. I think people should be careful to make sure they don't repeat other posts (like fav. bands) and that kinda thing.

On the CB, on the top with the announcements, there's a post strictly for pixie dust so the board isn't littered with a bunch of our posts. Since a lot of the posts on our board have to do with congratulating people on posts, maybe we could do the same kind of a thing (just an idea Disney Daniel and dancergirl! ) so that would eliminate some of the posts. Perhaps we could do that with other things too.

That's just my 2 cents~

Okay folks,

Essentially the Teen Disney Board is based around Disney World and Disneyland.
However, on many occasions the Teen Board is many different boards grouped into one.
Some days it is a Theme Parks Board, others it is a Resorts Board, and others it is a Community Board where teens from all over the world gather to share their ideas and daily lives.

When Webmaster Alex posted the announcement, he referred to posts that are solely to boost a person's post count.

It is helpful to make sure that your post is not repetative. (Posting a game that was already posted an hour ago)

As long as a post remains within the DIS Guidelines, and is respectful, it is fine by the moderators.

If anyone has any questions or concerns, feel free to contact Dancergirl or I.

I appreciate everyone's different opinions on this topic. We've seen people who agree with me, who don't approve of all the "off- topic" posts. We've seen people who disagree with me, who feel that the "off-topic" posts don't hurt anyone. We've also seen the opinion of a Webmaster, who said that some of the "off topic" stuff is OK, but not too much of it. I personally feel that this is a Disney Discussion board, and most of the topics should pertain to WDW. I know it's the teen board, where teens can come to talk amongst other teens. But when it gets down to it, "What's hot for a guy to wear?" or "Who's the Hottest?" or "Congrats on your 15th post" has nothing to do with Disney. This is a Disney board. I come on here to talk about Disney with other teens, and more than 75% of the stuff on this board has absolutely nothing to do with Disney. It's rather upsetting to me.

If people are replying to and reading these posts, then they're obviously popular.
The only solution I can offer to the Disney purists is to not read the posts they don't like, and start their own posts about Disney. Its clear that we all have different ideas about what this board should be, and we can't all be happy. If we reach a point when posts asking questions about Disney are being pushed to the second page by games and congratulatory threads, then perhaps things have gone too far, but until then, I'd suggest that people just read the threads they want to.

I agree with Suzi.

but also if you are complaining about the board not being about disney then start post about disney..but any post you start about disney will have probably already been posted.
and also its gonna be hard to get it put down to the 2nd page....one thing I do(to make sure I dont miss any posts)is start at the bottom of the page and work up...and then I read the posts I want.
and if you have a question about disney dont be afraid to ask!!!
and also ppl keep saying "what if someone ask a quesiton about disney and it gets bumped down"well since yall dont wanna read the off-topic questions then find them and answer them..ya know? I play the games and do all the topics and Ill still answer those posts too!
also I love the off-topic questions.it adds fun to the boards...like sometimes these boards are SOO dull..nothing to talk about..so some of us tried to add fun to it and what happens we get yelled at
so if you dont like the off-topics post dont read them..start your own disney posts!

I do start my own Disney Posts, and more times then not they get pushed down the list because of all these unrelated posts. That's the reason for me making THIS post.

well I havent seen to many posts started by you about disney..Im just saying...I would answer them but I havent seen too many...people can really only answer posts once..so once the regulars answer them they do get pushed down and it happens to my posts all the time and then like 2 weeks later they get put up b/c someones answers...it happens with all posts.
I mean you can only ask sooo many questions...start more or something! I'll answer them..I promise!
