I trust all my Dis friends opinions...I have a question. Looking to stay on Lake George, NY...

This is not a DVC trade...we just don't know the area and will be paying cash.

Any recommendations or suggestions????

Two kids are 9(almost) and 4 1/2....thinking of Six Flags Lodge, because we would definitely do six flags, but also want to do lake stuff, like boats, swimming, tubing...anyone recommend a nice place.

Also, think moderate...not looking to pay $400 per night...more like half that...

TIA

I will be out that way this weekend and that lodge does have a very nice indoor water park as well. I'm sure the kids will love it. There are some popular chains within a couple miles from Six Flags Great Escape as well. Fairfields and Holday Inns I believe. They are down in Saratoga Springs. Some do and have indoor pools and free breakfasts as well.

We stayed at the waterpark lodge before when it first opened a couple of years ago and it was beautiful! Haven't stayed anywhere else down there recently to recommend, but thinking about going there in August for my sons birthday.

The Holiday Inn in Lake George is very nice and recently refurbished. It is about 1/2 mile from the Village. It is a beautiful area with tons of things to do. I grew up in the Lake George area and went there every weekend. Every chance I get I go back home. The beauty never changes. You won't be disappointed with the holiday inn or Lake George.

Last summer we spent a few nights at the Ridin'HY ranch ( ridinhy.com) just north of Saratoga Springs. It is all inclusive and has lots of activities for the kids ( my twins were 8 last summer) . I was skeptical when we went but it was a lot of fun for the kids and they did not want to go home. The staff is geared toward the kids and friendlier then WDW.
