Does anyone have any experience with these two? I am leaning towards Lake Eve, but may have to choose Palisades if my daughter joins us because Lake Eve doesn't have a 3 BR available for all nights of our stay. TIA!

Hi,

We have booked 10 x nights in a 3 x bed at The Palisades in December.
Got a very good rate from here in the UK - its probably just over $100 per night for a "platinum" suite.

I have been trying to find anyone who has stayed here but ony one person has replied so far.
There are the obvious mixed reviews on Tripadvisor and to be honest - whilst I take most of these reports with a pinch of salt - the majority are very favourable.
I would be far more inclined to take notice of people on these boards as they usually give great feedback without all of the emotional negativity.

We know the location and its pretty close to Disney - only 10 minutes to Animal Kingdom and close to the 192 for restaurants etc.

People are complaining about the free breakfast being sparse - again - that wont bother us - we just grab a coffe and muffin and head for the parks anyway. We are big coffee drinkers so the free all day coffee will get well used!

I dont know the Lake Eve resort I'm afraid - but this is a link that we used to sum up the accomodation at The Palisades which may help?

We stayed at the Palisades last April for 3 nights. Stayed in a two bedroom.

We thought it was great. Rooms were huge. Felt like it was more like renting a house than a hotel the way we could spread out. Agree with most things on Tripadvisor, breakfast is very basic, service was excellent, location is slightly remote but nice to get away. We would stay again without a doubt. Only concern we did have was my wife did think it had been awhile since they had vacuumed under the bed, she found hair elastics, a ladies scarf and a good amount of dust which slightly concerened her.

We usually stay in Orlando for three or 4 nights each year before heading home. We have stayed at the Hawthorn Suites LBV for the three years prior and while location and breakfast is better we did enjoy the Palisades more. Actually when we switched the last night to stay at the Hyatt at the airport, which is always a highlight for us, the kids (12yo) cried because they did not want to leave there room.

If you have any questions, ask and I will try to answer. Have not been on the board much latley but will try to check back in.
