I do not know where to place this so here goes has any here ever visited Lake Anna in Va? Did you rent a home or cabin there? If so where did you find it and was it nice?
Thanks so much for any help you can give

How funny.....my brother and other friends of mine own houses on Lake Anna. I was just there in November. It's quite pretty and the lake is nice. It's not too far from some big cities for sightseeing (Richmond and Charlottesville)

My brother's place is more like a cottage and he doesn't rent it out. My friends, on the other hand, rent their's out all of the time. There'll almost all booked up for next summer already.

My sons visited my brother last summer....they loved the boating, the jet skis and so on

In case you didn't know.......Lake Anna is an artificial lake used to provide a reservoir of water coolant for use with the nuclear power plant.

Hi,
I see you're from Scottsville (I live in Fluvanna). You might want to check at the Visitors Center at the new Best Western,Zions X Roads. It has tourist information for Fluvanna, Louisa and Orange. They might have some information for you.

 We have a place in Lake Monticello! I know lots of people with places at Lake Anna (on both the cold and warm sides), but none who rent.

Can you find a realty company around there to ask?

Yes it is, but there is a hot side that is off limits and a cool side that is used for recreational purposes. If the power plant was not built there, there would be no lake.

I used to work in Louisa near there and knew alot of people who live on lake anna. There are 2 sides, a private side which is warmer (power plant) and a public side. They are completely separate. the private side is nicer quieter and more peaceful. There are alot of retirees there. There are some restaurants, but not alot you can boat to. We live in Richmond and prefer Lake Gaston. It's on the Va/NC border. There are ALOT of places that rent out in the summer. Water temp is great. We vacationed here 3 years in a row and loved it so much we bought a house there! I don't know what rentals run at Lake Anna but at LKG they were about 1300 or so for 4 bedroom/3bath for a week. Not bad considering outer banks was 4-10,000 for same time period. Lake Anna is closer to cultural stuff in Dc but still have to drive about 30 minutes. At LGK it's all about the lake. Very peaceful. There are a couple places you can boat to and eat and get ice cream. If you want to check out rentals go to storyproperties.com. We used them 3 years and had no problems. Also the Sat closest to 4th of July they have a great fireworks display over the lake. OK I'll get off my bandwagon now!

Smith Mountain Lake in VA is a very popular place too, if you just want to visit a lake in that area of the country.

Thanks for the suggestions I really like the look of the Lake Gaston I will definately check into that and Smith Mountain Lake Thanks everybody
