Laissez les bon temps Rouler...Feb 2010 2/20 MK Last part of the Night updt 9/70 pg65

A big hello from Mandeville, La. :wave2: Of course the title of your trip made me stop by and yes I actually knew what Laissez les bon temps Rouler means. We love going to Disney for Mardi Gras. My neighbor left this morning which kind of made me sad because I'm not going this year. My kids get the week off except for my oldest who goes to UL-Lafayette. Kind of puts a damper on having to go in the summer now.

I love reading your report and I'm all caught up now. We always have an LSU day when we go too. So sorry to hear it was so cold last year. We've gone several times for Mardi Gras and have always had such nice weather. Looks like you'll just have to plan another trip. :thumbsup2

I'm glad Dennis like TSM despite the *grueling* 30 minute wait.

One thing I really like about the standby line for ToT is that you can get so many great pictures. I love your pictures with the moss trees in the foreground.

Where's your redneck ride photo???? :rotfl:

Superb planning for maximizing ride potential!

I'm glad the girls rode Tower of Terror with you! That is my *favorite* ride and on my most recent trip (just got back 6 days ago :goodvibes) there was noooo way I was getting my mom to ride with me and it just wasn't as fun alone.

And I also missed the FP line for TSM. It really was crazy there first thing in the morning! :scared1:

Another TOT lover here! So glad you had ride companions! I think it makes the ride that much more fun!:goodvibes

So you made rope drop? See! You're fully capable! :rotfl2: But can you get there even earlier next time?????

I do like your photos from ToT. I'd like to try my hand at photographing the queue again. I just don't want to ride! Maybe I'll go through and take the chicken exit...... We had FP's for ToT this last time and I missed WAY too much!

Rope drop is not problem, being the first family there is. We actually talked to Dennis and he is willing to give it a try.

The best thing about doing stand by was being able to take pictures. Not that I want to do stand by again anytime soon.

Bummer that you walked by the end of the fastpass line for TSM without realizing it. I can see how that could happen on your first time doing the "dash". I'm glad that Dennis ended up liking the ride though.

I think I'll do a little better the next time I do the dash. I knew Dennis would Love TSM. If he can ditch me to ride Buzz he's gotta love TSM.

I think I might have missed that FiP line too- it's easy to do, when you're not sure what you're looking for!

Very impressive getting those early morning rides out of the way so fast! And I"m so glad Dennis liked TSM! It is irresistable, isn't it!?

I have to remember to stay to the right to get in the line. With everyone moving as a heard it's real hard.

TSM is The Best!:thumbsup2

:welcome: Grumpy's Wife! I'm so glad you joined us. I wish we went for Mardi Gras this year too!:sad1: Danielle only has Monday and Tuesday off. Michelle is at LSU and has off until Thursday. No big plans here for us this year.

The weather was unusually cold last year. When we went in 2004 it was much warmer.

I'm always ready to plan another trip, I just have to get Dennis on board. He keeps saying he wants to plan a surprise trip for me. I'm not real sure how I would really feel about that. I would never turn a trip to Disney down, but planning is my thing. I don't know if I could give up that control.

I was so happy to get some pictures in the line this time. The only down side was putting up with Grumpy.

I'm also glad I got pictures from the TOT line. This was my very first time to have to wait in line. Sorry no redneck picture. We were rushing to meet up with Dennis. In the past we have bought the ride photo a couple of time.

We were doing the best we could to get those trill rides in.

TOT is my very favorite thrill ride in Disney! I'll ride it alone, but yes it's so much more fun to share the ride.

I hope to do better the next time I do the TSM dash. It was a very harry experience.

Are you have Disney withdrawls yet?

TOT lovers unite! If we're ever there at the same time we have to ride together!

Hey there!!! I'm trying to catch up on everyone's reports since I've been MIA for waaay too long. :goodvibes I'll have to go back and read yours tonight.

I'm bummed we didn't get to go this Feb. This is the first year we haven't done Feb since 2007!

Blue it's so good to "see" you again. I'm glad your back. I took about a two month break around Christmas.

I'm really missing Disney right now. Lot of friends are down there right now and they aren't freezing like we did and I doubt if it's as crowded as it was for us.

Will y'all be doing anything for Mardi Gras? We aren't. My sister called last night to ask if we were going to Mamou but I'm just not up for it this year. I had to work today but I'm off tomorrow! No big parades here in Baton Rouge on Mardi Gras day. And I'm to lazy to drive to New Roads are anywhere else. Over the years we've done a little of most of the different celebrations offered.

I know what you mean about missing Disney! It just doesn't feel right not going. It seems like everyone and their brother is going right now! :rotfl:

We went to a couple of Mardi Gras balls this year. One formal and one pirate costume. They were both pretty fun. We haven't done that in years! We were guests of some friends since we don't belong to a Krewe ourselves....yet! We are considering. Besides that, I brought DS to the Children's parade yesterday and the Royal Gala tonight. Tomorrow is our big parade but I think we will skip it. I haven't done it in years and really don't feel like fighting all the drunks.

My sister had plans to hit the parades and stuff today.

When Michelle was in 4th grade we went to a Mardi Gras Ball, she rode in the Children's parade and went back for some big presentation in the Civic Center. I missed the presentation thing because I had to work. My cousin was King and his wife was Queen that year. Michelle was part of their entourage. She was a Princess. She loved it. She got to dress up and go to a Ball! Of course we had to go too. It was fun but a lot of work. Up until we left for the ball we were still putting rhinestones on the dresses. Her dress still hangs in my closet.

Catching up...
The ToT pictures are excellent.

I hope to have much more DIS time during spring break next week. :cool1:

I was trying to respond to MeMom and then it showed up as a duplicate and then the duplicate disappeared.

You're doing better at catching up than I am. I'm still way behind on your reports. I'm just skimming right now trying to get caught up on the update.

Enjoy your time off, you deserve it!

The girls and I had ridden Tower of Terror and Dennis had done RNRC single rider so what do we do next?

We traveled down Sunset Blvd back towards the hat. Our timing was just right to catch High School Musical 3. We grabbed a spot and cropped a squat. Danielle and I had seen it June 2009, but Michelle has missed out. Even though she's older she still enjoys High School Musical.

They always look like they are having such a good time. Does anyone else wish they had gone to a High School were people would break out into song?

Well since we were already in the area we hit the closest attraction to the hat, The Great Movie Ride. I know it's corny but I still like it. My favorite part is at the end when they show all the clips of different movies. So many emotions just shoot right through me.

Michelle took that picture. I didn't take any on the ride because mine always come out horrible. I pretty sure we had the gangster version. Although over time we've had both I would say we've had the gangster way more times than the cowboy.

After we exited the ride we headed down by the Commissary and spied the American Idol backstage area. We're fans so the girls had to stop for pictures.

Here's Michelle trying to get that just right picture.

And again....

And finally...

Danielle wasn't as adventurous.

So here's where it get sketchy again. My time stamp for the above pictures is for right before 12 and the next picture I have is for 1:16 so I'm thinking we did something before lunch, but what I can't remember and I have no photo evidence. Blame it on the over 40 memory. I do remember where we ate. We hit Pizza Planet. It was the first Friday of Lent and this time I remembered not to eat meat at lunch. I do remember the line being pretty long. I know I had the cheese pizza meal. I also remember the lady that was waiting for her gluten free meal in front of me. I pretty sure we did something before we ate because as we were eating we tried to decide what to do next. I'm not a big fan of LMA but Dennis loves it. He now understands that we can take it or leave it. When Danielle and I were planning our girls only trip June 2009 we had definitely put in on the do not do list. Dennis' chin hit the floor we he heard us say that. He couldn't believe we weren't going to do it. So as we were discussing what to next he tried to play it cool but I could tell what he wanted to do. There was only 2 shows of LMA and the first one was at 1:20 and we were fast approaching that time. Since he has been pretty good about doing things we wanted to do I suggested we hurry up and see if we could get in. We picked up our food and I do believe we brought our Pizza boxes with us and started walking fast towards LMA. When we got there they were still letting people in but we had to walk all the way to the far left behind the stadium.

Michelle took this at 1:16. It's her example of "what not to wear" as we were walking in.

I can honestly say walking into that stadium was the most exhausting walk I have ever taken in Disney. The had us walk all the way to end, all the way up the stairs to the very top and then almost all the way back down to almost the bottom. Have you ever noticed that when they seat for shows that the leave the very bottom rows of each major section empty? I think they are for special needs people but when it gets really close to show time they put the late people there, like us. I didn't take any pictures, we were still eating our lunch and I have so many pictures from other trips. I do enjoy the show, but again it's not something I have to do each trip.

I'm pretty sure after LMA we finally used our set of FPs for TSM. Once again it was enjoyed by all, but again no pictures.

Up Next Block Party Bash.

I so agree with you on LMA!! But Kyle LOVES it and we have to do it each time and sometimes twice , the second time I let Judy take him and the girls and I do something else !!As for LMA , I love it and so does Kyle , we do that while the girls are doing RnC !!
