Ladybug release at GF

Just watched the travel channel's show about WDW and they showed kids participating in a ladybug release at the Grand Floridian. Anybody done this? Do you have to be staying at the GF? Do you need to make ressies 90 days out? Is it daily? Is it free? Please someone tell me what you know! This is right up my little tomboy's alley...

I would love to know those things too.
We did it once at flower and garden festival it was really fun, they give you little match like boxes and it was really cool.

Okay jcricket, after some research, I think this is only offered during Epcot's Flower & Garden Festival in the spring. It starts in April and goes to early June. We will probably never go in April due to peak prices, but maybe someday we can do an end of May trip. They also offer a butterfly release then too. Pretty cool if you're going that time of year! If someone finds out something different, please post it. Thanks!

we did the Behind the Seeds backstage tour at Epcot (in the Land Pavilion)...
we got to release ladybugs in the plant area --...in the area that you go through on those boats that go through living with the land....we walked in that area and at the end of the tour we got to release our ladybugs....
The ladybugs kill parasites that kill the plants...

They did tthe lady bug release at either the Poly or the WL when we stayed there as well, but I thought they discontinued it. I cannot remember which resort it was though (the trips all seem to run together!)

Didn't someone have a butterfly thing too?

Hi! I noticed on allearsnet.com that it says they have it every Thursday @ 11:00 am outside @ the 1900 Park Fare Herb Garden. I was really interested in this also;but we'll only be there this weekend for 3 days;so we'll miss it!

Maybe we can catch it when we're there for xmas 2006. Hope this helps!

I just looked back over the GF newsletters that I have from our stays. Over the past couple of years, I don't see anything on there about the ladybug release. Your best bet would be to call the resort directly and find out if it's offered and when. I think 3princesses4us is correct and that it's only offered during the Flower & Garden festival.
