Lady Ga-Ga

really??? I think madonna was/is a lot worse...and at least Lady Gaga has talent as well. Madonna is just desperate,
but part of lady gaga's stuff is performance art...so mabe a lot of people just don't "get it" :confused3

Yes, you can sure count me in on not getting it.....maybe it's an age thing!?!!? :lmao:

I don't watch music videos like I did times past. I came across one in particular while reading entertainment news. Have you seen Lady Ga-Ga's video with Beyonce, "Telephone"? I was surprised Beyonce was a part of it! Awful! I will say the song is catchy.

The lyrics didn't match the choreography if you can call it that. The most disturbing scenes are of Lady Ga-Ga as a cook at a diner. She puts poison in everyone's food. Serves it and watches everyone die. Mass murder in a diner. Panning to the dead customer's faces while Lady Ga-Ga and Beyonce (and other dancers) are dancing around the place. It was disturbing. I think I'd be disturbed by it even if I were the target audience.

I think Lady Ga-Ga is a Madonna 2.0, extreme version.

Just wondering why you are surprised that Beyonce would be a part of it?

ETA I love the song and although LG isn't my cup of tea artistically, I loved the homage to Kill Bill

I don't know. I've never seen Beyonce do that sort of thing. Being a part of a video with casual murder, just didn't seem like something she would do to me.

ETA- Not saying B. hadn't ever done something like that. I just hadn't seen it. I don't see a lot of videos though. :)

pretty crazy

I haven't seen the video but, I just want to say, I want this song as my ring back tone on my cell phone. LOL. I SO hate talking on the phone. Those lyrics were written for me. :rotfl:

Me, too, I barely turn mine on!

The vid was a short movie, a take off on Quentin Tarentino's movies and Thelma and Louise. It's no more horrendous than CSI:Miami. WHAT is the big deal???

It was well acted, well performed and amazingly well directed. If you think she's a bad influence for the generation check out Ke$ha :scared:. GaGa is a caricature, more of a cartoon character than a person. I doubt if anything she does is relatable to anyone's life.

Ke$ha is scary too. CSI isn't scripted for kids. And L.G.G. music is targeted to kids, youth. That's the difference to me. I'm not carrying signs or anything. Just an observation. :)

I read Quentin Tarentino has a script for L.G.G., where she will play an assassin. Sounds interesting.

I think Beyonce's videos are pretty much her dancing so I don't if she's ever murdered someone with her choreography  In her Video Phone (with Lady Gaga) video she is dancing with guns in her hand, which I thought was odd. I love Beyonce's music (most of it anyway) and as much as I hate to admit I like Gaga's too but I don't take their videos seriously.

I will never understand why such a talented young ladies feel the need to resort to such vulgarity in their performances. Madonna was the first to push the envelope, but Lady GaGa is just so vulgar that I think it takes away from her credibility as a performer. I think she has an amazing voice, and she would still be a superstar without the gratuitous raunch.

My iPod is full of Lady GaGa's music. But I CAN'T watch her video's or see her live. Her image freaks me out.

Quentin Tarentino is writing the next Kill Bill movie. I'm thinking Lady GaGa would fit in perfectly.

I have a few friends that just love Lady GaGa. I admit that I admired Madonna but I don't get Lady GaGa. She's just too out there for me.

Because nobody will ever forget Lady Gaga, but if she was just her voice, she's be long gone in a few years.

When I read things like this I'm reminded of what my parents said about Elvis and his hip swinging. Or Led Zepplin with Jimmy Page's bare chested concerts. Or the Beatle's subliminal messages if played backwards. I guess each generation has a new envelope to push...

Lady Ga Ga is an extremely talented lady. She was writing songs for a lot of stars for years and writes her own stuff now. I think she designs a lot of the crazy stuff she wears too.

I do agree that her stuff is little "out there" and some of her videos are pushing it a bit. The sad thing is it takes this kind of stuff to make it in that business. The further they go, they further it takes to make an impression on listeners and video watchers.

She was on an episode of Launch My Line, too. She looked beautiful and did seem rather sweet and shy.

:thumbsup2

Nothing is original and pushing the envelope started in the Garden of Eden.

Wow, I didn't like it. I wouldn't want my 13 year old seeing it.

The kissing, the playing with herself, the F word, the murder, the wagon at the end....

It had nothing to do with the subject of the song either.

I guess I am getting old.

:lmao: I'm sure I'm old enough to be your mother and I'm just :confused3 But then again, I'm not normal! :lmao: Like LGG!! ;)

Lady Gaga isn't really meant for kids either...I'm sorry but her lyrics are not kid friendly, though I probably would have listened to stuff like her as kid..I'm not a big fan of hers or anything, but I really don't see the big deal being made about the video? :confused3 CSI may not be scripted for kids, but I guarantee you many kids watch it...I don't see any harm in that...just as Lady Gaga isn't directly marketed to kids, but I'm sure lots listen to her and I don't see any harm in that either. It's art...not reality.

I agree! I don't understand why people are so upset. Her music isn't marketed towards children. It's a parent's job to decide what they feel is appropriate for their children to listen to, not the artists. ESPECIALLY if they are not marketing that age group.

Many little girls want to wear expensive make-up, but parents tell them no. It's not the make-up companies' faults.

Don't see what the big deal is. I love the song, I think she's extremely talented and she's just being provocative. Hey, she's got us all talking about her, so mission accomplished!
