Lady and the Tramp's Disney with Food Allergies TR ~COMPLETE

What beautiful pictures!! I love that you're able to get so many pictures with the characters! Looking forward to your next post!!!!

I hope to be back this weekend to finish up, we don't have much more to go over. This heat and the weather is wrecking havic on my poor children! Their allergies are crazy, and they aren't sleeping well at night, meaning they are total bears during the day! OMgoodness the fiasco this morning trying to drop them off at day care!!

On the positive side.....WE BOOKED OUR CABIN FOR OUR VOW RENEWAL ON THE WONDER FOR DECEMBER 10, 2009!!!! ROCK ON!!! Yeah i'm so excited!!

Day 3 DHS Continued..........

So we headed over to Pizza Planet. Joe took the kids to play some games while I went to order lunch. I told the cashier I needed to order a special Dairy Free Pizza. She asked if I wanted them to leave the cheese off??:faint: I asked her to please get the manager. So he comes out with the binder. Showes me the package for the crust, it was an ENERGY Pita crust, and vegan dairy free mozzerella. :thumbsup2 he said it would take about 10 minutes to make. So i ordered, and waited. In the mean time, 2 other special orders were placed, one with no sauce, and a gluten free pizza. The people working behind the counter were not very aware of what was going on, because i must have had 3 CM's ask me why i was standing at the counter for so long. finally the special orders start coming up. One of the cm's was a mentally handicapped person. For some reason, he was the one who had the responsibility of determining which special pizza went to which individual. bad idea. I saw a special come up, with funny looking cheese. that was mine. The vegan cheese came in a block, and they had to shave it, so it wasn't melty like the regular pizzas. Well, he didn't believe that it was mine, and gave it to the woman who ordered no sauce. I told him it was mine, and i tried to tell the other cm's but they weren't paying attention. So he takes my pizza off to the other lady, who looks at it and can tell that it's not hers, as she was to get no sauce. So she proceedes to walk back up to teh counter, and before i can get to her, she picks up the pizza and takes a bite!!!     Are you kidding me?!?!?!? WTH did she do that?? UGH!! So we had to wait another 10 minutes to make another pizza for him. what a waste. and of course, he didn't eat it anyway.

Otherwise it was fine. I like to go there for lunch, i think the pizza is good, adn the meals come with a salad and IMO salad ALWAYS goes with pizza. :thumbsup2 And the kids like to play the games while i'm ordering.

After pizza we decided to head back up to the front of the park, so DH and I could do RnRC/TOT and let Jackie do Ariel and Beauty and the Beast. We got there about 5 minutes before BatB, so i told Joe to go do RnRC, and I would take the kids to see the show. I knew Jackie would be very engrossed in the show, so i could hopefully devote my full attention to ensuring Joey didn't run away. He did really good until about the last 5-10 minutes of the show. Then he got a bit antsy and was climbing all over me. Finally the show ended, Jackie loved it just like i thought she would, and we went out to find Joe. He got to ride 3x!!! No way!! So I figured it would be no big deal for me to quickly do it while he waited with the kids. Well, everyone else must have had the same idea. While he rode 3x in 25 minutes, it took my 25 minutes just to ride once! and that was with my FP!! So of course after sitting for 25 minutes, the kids were antsy and hot and tired, so mommy's ride on ToT was cancelled. Dang it!! I LOVE ToT and made Joe go on it during our trip is 2001, and he hated it.:lmao: Yeah, he's not too big on elevators so it wasn't his thing. So now I always have to ride alone. And I don't see Jackie getting that big in the next 18 months to have her go with me for our next trip. But my girlfriend is coming with us so she'll go with me!:thumbsup2

So we headed back over by to try and see VOTLM, and saw that Handy Manny was out for autographs. So we wait in line for him. He's great, the kids love to watch his shows. Joey has lots of tools and likes to follow along with Manny.
133.jpg

134.jpg

Manny sat and looked thru the book with her also.:thumbsup2 Man I love that book!! :lmao:

Joey, however, was cranky and tired.
135.jpg

136.jpg

We had just misssed the showing of VOTLM and decided not to wait for the next show. It was about 130pm, and I wanted the kids to have a nap before P&PP tonight, so we headed out. Did a few quick trips thru some of the stores that I knew had pressed penny machines. :thumbsup2 We ended up with 4 of the 6 collection for Lady and the Tramp!!

So we caught the bus back, and Jackie Joey and Joe all decided to take a nap. I left the room, and was supposed to go to the food court and pick up some chocolate covered strawberries i had arranged as a special treat for everyone. but i completely forget them!! I had specifically asked for them that day knowing we would be coming back midday for a nap and it would be a perfect wake up for them. But i was walking around the resort exploring, and did some shopping, wrote my Fairy Godmailer postcards, and just enjoyed some quite time. I didn't remember the strawberries until we were on the ME headed to the airport the next day!!:( I told Joe about it, and he laughed at me. Said i had overplanned my trip and forget important things, ie Jackie's Cinderella dress for 1900 Park Fare.

Woke the kids up about 4pm, to get dressed and head over to MK for Mickey's Pirate and Princess Party!! I was so excited for it!!
trip052.jpg

We hopped on the bus and arrived at MK a little bit after 5pm. Our first priority was to ride the MK train. Joey LOVES trains. It's insane, really. Dh's parents live near a track and we have to go over them each time we visit, which is atleast 2x a week. Joey goes nuts when a train is there, he get so excited for them. So I knew he would love riding on the train. And i was right! He was so happy with the train ride. (sorry no pics, i had the camera, bag, 2 strollers, and the P&PP Map in my hands)

We got off in Toon Town and tried to decide what to eat for Dinner. We had tried to get an ADR for Tony's before we caught the train, but they were full. Joe said he wanted Hot dogs. I wanted to try the Plaza restaurant, but by now it was 6pm and they were closed!! So was the Tomorrowland Noodle Station. So Joe got his wish and we had Hot Dogs at Casey's. At $25 it was the cheapest non-DDP meal we had this week. Of course, i had to listen to Dh complain about taking the train around the park, only to walk back to practically the begining where we started from!!:furious:

After dinner we walked back towards Fantasy Land and saw that as it was almost 7pm, the park was starting to empty out. Jackie was able to ride Dumbo finally, I rode with Joey and he wasn't to happy abuot it. I guess he really doesn't like that ride.;) I kept Dumbo on the bottom the whole time and he did ok, until they raise you up at the end of the ride. What's the point of that??:confused3

We were then able to do Peter Pan, Snow White and Pooh again before 7pm. We were so excited to be able to get some of the rides out of the way before the party even started!! Finally at 7pm we started to make our way over to Toon Town, and saw Peter Pan and Wendy out.
trip053.jpg

trip054.jpg

We also got our first Treasure of the night!! WOO HOO Mardi Gras beads!:lmao: Jackie of course was thrilled with the beads, DH, not so much. He's a bit of a fuddy duddy about that stuff.;)

We decided to head over to the Speedway since we hadn't gotten to it the day before . the line was still 20 minutes, but we waited anyway. Joe went with Joey, and I went with Jackie. It was fun, I love to do the car rides!! (Gosh i am just sucking at pics for this day aren't I??)

After the cars, it was time once again for BUZZ LIGHTYEAR!!! :lmao: WOW! Talk about no line!! Man, it was great!! You know how the queue for buzz is, you walk in the doors and go to the right thru the big long lines, then head over to the left and see the halogram Buzz?? Well we walked in and went STRAIGHT ON THE RIDE!! No line weaving or anything!! It was so great we did it 2x in a row!! Man we love that ride! I can't wait to go back and ride Toy Story Mania in DHS!!

It was now time to go get a spot for the Parade! after Joey's reaction last night to Spectro Magic, the parade was a definate MUST SEE, but it was also a definate that we needed a seat! My shoulders were still sore from his bouncing aruond up there!;) so we copped a squat infront of Main Street Bakery about 15minutes before the parade. There was actually quite a bit of room, Dh and I each sat on the curb with a stroller between us and we weren't crowded at all, and no one tried to step on/in front of us.

More of my hideous attemps at nightime photography....

Finally the parade started!!

It was really good!

The parade was wonderful, the Kids loved it, Dh loved it, all over a great experience!!

After the parade, we headed over towards Adventure land, got more treasure, and saw Abu! But still...no Jasmine.:(
137.jpg

138.jpg

So we headed over towards Liberty Square, got more Treasure, saw the fireworks as we were walking, and just figured out what we wanted to go. The plan was to head back to Adventure land, as Jasmine was supposed to be there at 10pm, then head to ToonTown, and see if the lines there was ok.

Jasmine finally arrives!!
trip084.jpg

140.jpg

142.jpg

So we left Adventureland, headed back towards Liberty Square and up thru FantasyLand. We passed Cinderella's Coach, but the line for that was CRAZY!!! We finally found out wehre the rest of the party goers were! So i snapped a pic of someone elses child infront of it and tried to crop her out. didn't work very well.
trip086.jpg

Then we saw the dance party Jackie and Joey both decided they wanted to dance. This was pretty funny, as Joey was about to fall asleep in his stroller. But he got out and got boogieing!!

They stayed and danced for close to 30 minutes before we rounded them up with hopes of being able to see the Characters in their Pirate and Princess Clothes. So we headed over to the Country Fair tent and the wait for Minnie and Daisy said 30 minutes. So we waited, and I think it only ended up being about 20 minute wait.

trip101.jpg

It was now after 11pm and both kids were still awake, but getting very sleepy. I was so impressed with their behavior, it figured it was time to reward them. So we headed over to the Emporioum to try and find something for them. Jackie picked out a Tinkerbell play set, the little Polly Pocket sized one. She has one for Snow White and Sleeping Beauty too. Gosh i just love all those little pieces.:( Dh got his "i'm grumpy because You're Dopey" shirt. And I got some photo albums, but we didn't find anything for Joey. so we headed out to the bus about 11:55pm. Luckily the bus was waiting and the line wasn't too long. we got on and the kids were out! :lmao:

Ahhh, sounds like a great night!!

I'm surprised the kids did so well after a full morning at DHS. Great job!

I was chuckling about the special order pizza that didn't actually get eaten. That happens to us all the time - we go out of our way to accomodate the FA, and then the special dish is not even consumed. Gotta love the kids. ;)

Great updates :thumbsup2 . What a long day this was, I think I would be tired too. Sorry about your pizza at Pizza Planet, can't believe that lady took a bite of it :headache: . Loved your p&PP update and all the pics are great. Your DD looks so pretty in her Aurora dress. You lucked out with a parade spot on Main St that close to parade time :cool1: . Too bad about the strawberries  , I do remember reading on the cake thread that you were ordering them. I forget tons of things on my trips too. So much to remember. I loved your pics from 2005, so cute. I can't believe you were 8 months pregnant, I looked like that at 8 weeks with Thomas. I was enormous. Luckily with Kaylee I wore my regular clothes until 6 months. Tall people just look cuter pregnant.

Day 4 - Animal Kingdom

Ok, time to finish this!!

Another boring wake up call at 6am!! Had to finish packing everything up as it's time to go home already!! I thought a quick short trip would be such a great idea, just a quick little disney fix before our 18 month planning phase for the Vow Renewal. BOY WAS I WRONG!!!!! Never never never take such a short trip!! We were leaving before we even got there!

So i quickly arranged and rearranged and rearranged again all our luggage. Packed up the box to ship back home, and finally woke up the family. they got ready while i quickly took the luggage down to baggage claim. DH didn't want to use resort check in, he didnt' like the idea of the luggage sitting at teh airport all day long, just waiting to be sent to Who Knows Wear. (he's such a smart man!!) So we just store it until we catch ME at 515pm.

So we grab a pop-tart again (what a great way to make sure we get to the parks early!!) and catch the bus to AK. Walk in right after rope drop and head straight for Kilimanjaro Safari. We grab a FP for 9:55am, and it's now about 9:10am. So we grabbed a quick bite at the little coffee cafe in Africa. We got blueberry muffins and DH got a chocolate scone. OMG they were soooo good. And HUGE too! Jumbo muffins! We easily could have gotten 2 instead of 4. But oh well, i had snack credits to use and we got muffins and juice and used up all our extra credits. :thumbsup2

After breakfast we did a quick walk thru of the Pangani Forest Trek. I love this because i like to see the Gorilla's and hippos. But the hippo exhibit was closed!! I was so bummed.

you can see something standing up in the trees.
trip103.jpg

trip104.jpg

the Male Gorilla was RIGHT THERE! Just sitting so close, and very still.
trip105.jpg

trip106.jpg

So we leave Panganin Forest and we still have a few minutes before our FP Time. and the Gate Keeper  wouldn't let us in even 2 minutes early.

On your mark, get set....RUN!!!
trip102.jpg

Yes, Joey was running around again, but we glued his butt to this bench. :lmao:
trip107.jpg

FINALLY, it was 9:55am and the CM let us in. Joey was totally in awe of the animals!! He kept trying to jump up and down and point at them!! "Lion, Zeba, Raffe, Wino":lmao:

trip114.jpg

trip115.jpg

It's a great attraction, and really, first thing in the morning is AWESOME with the animals being all active. It's great!

After KS we made our way to the train for Rafiki's Planet Watch. Jackie did one of the little kidcot place things (for the life of me i can't remember what it's called! I know Kidcot is Epcot) she found a bunch of bugs, and get her environmental stamp. So we continue on and decide first we need to go into Affection Section and pet the goats. Why, since we do this about 2x a month at the local zoo, but that's what she wanted to do. So we go pet the goats. (gosh, another crappy photo day :worried: I need to do better next time)

After petting the goats, we go inside and see Pocahontas. Jackie loves Pocahontas, but I seriously don't think she's ever even seen the movie! :lmao:

trip116.jpg

trip117.jpg

trip118.jpg

Then we saw Jiminy Cricket!! OMG i was so excited!!! I had no idea he was ever out! And what totally stinks, I didn't have a page for him in the autograph book!! So he signed on a blank Mickey head.:worried:

trip119.jpg

trip120.jpg

Last time we were there we saw Stanley and his goldfish, and Jackie was hoping he would be there again. But i bet he went "into the Disney Vault" along with Bear, and Rollie Pollie Ollie. Such a shame.

but Rafiki was there!!
trip121.jpg

trip122.jpg

So I asked Joey if he wanted a picture with the monkey too. And he said yes....and proceeded to walk right past Rafiki to this guy.

trip123.jpg

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

After character viewing we went into one of those little Listening Booths. I thougth it would be really cool and hear sounds of birds and frogs and the rain forest. nah, it was all a bunch of Conservation Talk. Which is great, but i didn't spend $3000 to waste 15 minutes listening to it on my last day!

So it was time to head back in the main part of the park.

Off the train and we head over to Asia. Dh and I need to get FP's for EE. And it's about 11:30 now, (man have we wasted the morning or what!!) and it's getting EXTREMELY hot already. And I swear, every single person at WDW Resort decided to hit AK that day! It was PACKED! You couldn't turn around and not hit someone. I had wanted to eat at Yak and Yeti CS for some yummy egg rolls, but the kids were way too hot and we decided to treat them to McD. So off to Dinoland for Restaurantasuaurs. Plus, it was A/C. :thumbsup2

After lunch Jackie and DH did Triceratop Spin. Joey didn't want to ride so i waited with him. We walked around a bit, and decided it was just way too hot and crowded. Our last day, and we ended up leaving AK about 1pm.:worried: We didn't get to see any characters, we didn't do EE, FOLK, Nemo, or ITTBAB. I was so bummed. But at the same time, we did push a LOT of stuff into that tiny 3 1/2 day trip, so it was time to head back to the resort.

UP NEXT - The end of the trip!!! :worried: :worried: :worried:

Sounds like a fun day so far. The key to th e"cool" wake up calls is to make them at an off time. Like 5:55am instead of 6:00am. This is because disney only has so many of the cool recorded ones and everyone picks 6:00am! Try it next time!

No way!! Really, that's it??!? i'm definately trying that next time!

Yup...works everytime for me! I ALWAYS have a Mickey Wake up call!

ok, let's finish this!! ;)

Day 4 continued - Time to go home! :guilty:

So we decided it was best to just head back to the resort, since it was so unbelieveably crowded at AK that day, and way too hot. Unfortunately we had already checked out of the room, and eaten lunch, so we really didn't have much to do for the next 2 1/2 hrs until our ME appt. :confused3 first we started out in the arcade. Joe and the kids played around for a little while, then Jackie got bored because daddy was playing too much. :sad2: So i decided to take her for a little walk around the resort. We turned left after exiting the main building and discovered the Goofy waterplayground!! Oh man she was in heaven!! She jumped right in, clothes and all. Ah, i figured you're only young once, and we were on vacation. I could get her some new clothes once we collected our luggage from bag services. So she played in her clothes!!
trip124.jpg

trip125.jpg

trip126.jpg

trip127.jpg

Yeah, so we hillbillies let our kid play in the water for about an hour! she had more fun doing that than anything this week! It was so cute to watch her run around! Joey and Joe came out shortly after we got there, but Joey was adamant about not getting wet. :confused3 So he and Joe did the walk around the resort for a while. About 30 minutes before the ME was due to arrive, i quickly "borrowed" a towel from a housekeeping cart and dried her off, grabbed the luggage and got her some new clothes. (Yes we did return the towel right after that! :thumbsup2 )

We go outside to wait, and there's a bus there! It's 4:50 pm and our bus wasn't supposed to get there until 5:15pm. :confused3 So i went to the driver and asked him if we were supposed to get on that bus. He spoke no english at all. :headache: He just kept saying "no bus" over and over again. How frustrating!! There was another couple there with the same reservation, they didn't know what to do either. Finally he just started picking up our bags!! Wait dude!! I showed him our confirmation letter that said 5:15pm, but he just shook his head yes and shuffled us on the bus. whatever, it doesn't make a differance as we were all going to the same destination. So we boarded, and left disney.

trip128.jpg

We arrive at Orlando airport, and check in easily enought, and head up to Chili's for some dinner. Leave dinner and go thru security and ride the last ride of the trip, out to the terminal. That's when i notice Jackie's kitty is gone. :scared1: Oh no!!! her kitty has been with her since she got him the 1st day!!
trip024.jpg

dtrip024.jpg

And now he's gone!! We figure he got left behind on the bus, because both kids fell asleep and it took so much work for Joe and I to get everything off the bus, holding 2 sleeping kids! We called Disney as soon as we got home, and they said Mears handles ME. So we called mears, filed a lost item report, and waited, and waited, and waited. Figaro was never turned in. Jackie was heartbroken.

So i posted a message in the Planning forum, for anyone going to MK in teh next few days to stop by the Country Fair tent in toontown and see if one was there. This wonderful woman responded that she was there, and would look for Figaro. She found him, got him, and made this elaborate story for Jackie about what Figaro was doing from the time he was lost until we got him in the mail!! :lovestruc Jackie was so excited when she got that package. It brought tears to my eyes!! So here again is my huge thanks to GLITTERKITTY of the DIS for her kindness and pixie dust for our trip. This was OUR Magical Moment!!

ok, so now for some thoughts on this trip.

This was a last minute, spur of the moment trip (atleast for us it was). We booked this trip 90 days in advance and I went into super planning, and saving $$$, mode to make sure we had the best "Quick Disney Fix" trip possible. We knew that we were planning our BIG 10th anniversary trip for 2010, so this was just supposed to hold us over until that trip. It was supposed to be a relaxing fun trip.

Well, it wasn't. At least not the way it was supposed to be. I went way overboard with the planning and trying to do as much as possible in 3 1/2 short days. It just can't be done. I knew ahead of time that we wouldn't be able to properly see everything, but i figured we could GLANCE at it all. ;) Nope, bad idea. We should have stuck with our original plan, and just relaxed and taken it as it came.

If I could do it over again, we'd only do 2 of the 4 parks. Our time in Epcot was so short!! We rushed thru future world, basically just seeing the Seas and the Land, then ran thru World Showcase just to ride Mexico and see Alice on the other side in UK. We didn't get to do any shopping, or the passports for the kids. We didn't get to do Mission Space, or Spaceship earth, or Soarin, or anythign in Innovations!

And we'd have skipped Animal Kingdom. Dh and I love this park, and our family is very into animals. We really wanted to do EE too. But it was the last day and even though we really did have all day, it was just a bad idea. We were tired before we even got to the park, and AK on the weekend is insane!! We should have skipped this, and played at the hotel pool or gone to DTD.

I think we were right to do MGM in 1/2 a day. Our kids were just too small for any of the big rides, and we have absolutley no interest in Star Wars, or Stunt Shows, or Indiana Jone shows. We went basically for the kids to see all the Pixar characters, for us to ride RNRC, and for Playhouse Disney. It was a great day, relaxed and fun.

For MK, I would have divided our days up between lands. Even with our touring plan (which we didn't follow exactly) we spent a lot walking around.

I've decided Magic Kingdom needs a 4 day trip all on it's own!! 1 day for Fantasy Land, Toontown and Tomorrow Land. 1 day for Adventure Land, frontier land and Liberty Square. 1 day to do nothing but see characters and watch shows. And the final day to do nothing but enjoy the scenery, main street, and SHOPPING!!

Things i've learned and will apply to our next trip, which incidently has been moved up to December 2009, instead of April 2010! So we go sooner!! :rotfl: 17 more months!

First - Try new restaurants!! While standing in a very short line for the boat in Mexico, dh looks out over San Angel Inn and says "why havent' we eaten here". :rotfl: Well honey, it's a 4 day trip with over 400 restaurants to choose from. Give me a break!! So our next trip i want to try as many new restaurants as possible!!

2nd - Don't overplan!!! Again, i tried to cram so much stuff into that short little trip! And since our next trip is the land/sea package, again, we'll only be there for 4 days. Although i am thinking of adding an extra day, still, it's not a full week. Dh and I will be discussing what is essential to see, and what is just a maybe.

3rd - It's ok to take a Taxi!! Dh couldn't understand why i asked for a taxi to take us back to POP after dinner at GF the 1st night. It cost us $20. But if we had taken the monorail back to MK, walked down the ramp, over to the bus stop, waited for a bus back to pop (at 7pm as MK was closing) and ridden the 20 mintues back to the resort, we'd have wasted atleast an hour, probably 1 1/2 hrs!! So if you have the $$, go ahead and spring for the taxi. It'll save you LOTS of time! :thumbsup2

4th - prepare children ahead of time for the walking. Both our kids rode in strollers this time, and it was fine. But next time, Dh says Jackie needs to walk. She'll be 6, and in 1st grade. He says she's old enought to walk around the parks. So we've already started cutting back on her stroller time. She walks around the mall and zoo now instead of riding. Once next summer comes around, we'll be walking around the neighborhood to get them used to walking long distances again!! It's hard work for adults to battle the parks all day! We want to make it as easy as possible for her!

I think that's about it!!

This TR was fun to do!! It really helped to write things down in planning, and remembering what we did! Hopefully i'll be able to do another one next year!!

I loved your TR....Thank you for posting it. Quick question...What did you do about Car seats in the Taxi?

I can't wait to hear about your next trip and of course THE BIG ONE!
