Ladies -whatcha doing for V-day?

I got DH Zomebieland on Blu-Ray.

We're going to stay in. Super romantic evening planned... I get to proofread some papers for him. He has 20 papers due in just one class this semester so I've got lots to proofread.

20 papers?!:scared1: oh my - what is the class? I'm hoping its a writing course....

I don't know what to do with that many papers - are they at least short ones? Or not research based - just opinions? UGH!

I have bought my hubby a box of Amedi chocolates from Italy and a nice bottle of brandy.

We normally don't do much for valentine's day but this year I just felt like giving him a nice surprise.

Cheers
Quasar

Well, let's see.....oldest DD is off at college; mailed her a V-day package yesterday. DS will be working (retail) all day. Youngest DD is spending the afternoon at the movies with Grammy. So DH and I will be alllllll alone for the afternoon! He is a big NASCAR fan and the Daytona 500 is running, so I'm thinking he'll want to watch some of that. Of course, I told him it's really only the last lap that matters and I'm sure I can find something to distract him during the other 499! :rolleyes1

We are going out on Saturday. Dinner downtown at one of the nicer restaurants, or so we hear. Then Riverdance is in town and DH bought us tickets - his idea!!!

My DH and I ordered the box set of the complete series of Seinfeld (something we'd been wanting for a bit) off Amazon that got delivered yesterday and we plan to order Chinese and enjoy our new DVDs :)

Nothing...not a huge fan of Valentine's Day. It's a Hallmark holiday, restaurants are packed, flowers are ridiculously expensive. I would rather get flowers on June 14th just because than Feb. 14th because he feels like he has to. Yes, I am a Valentine's Scrooge! LOL

I'd rather get flowers on June 14th too! That's my birthday!

DH is taking me out to lunch, nothing fancy, just a chance to go out together. We normally go out once on the weekend anyway, so the fact that it is Valentine's day doesn't really matter. Later that night my sister and I are going to a play that is here in town. Spring Awakening. Can't wait!

DH is taking me out & I think I'll make him (and DS) some chocolate covered Double Stuff Oreos!

I am going to be in Washington DC with 58 14 year old Mainers and 17 other adult Mainers, seeing the sights :) DH will be home with the furbabies and peace and quiet. Lucky guy ;)

Hopefully having a baby!

Wow all the times I see you on the Days thread I didn't even notice your siggy. Congrats!

How great would that be to have a baby on Valentine's day!

We don't do much , a box of candy for him. We don't buy cards but we show each other a card we would buy in the store and read it there..... Can't see paying $5-6 for a card.

To crazy to go out to eat , especially since it is also on a weekend. Probalby stay in with the kids and watch a movie.

We have been know to buy the candy after when it is all on sale....

We were invited to a really nice dinner party but my stay in the hospital forced us to cancel that. So, I guess we'll be staying home! (I will be home by Sun). I wish I had picked up a card before I was admitted since I can't drive but he probably won't care.

We have friends wanting to bring us meals once I'm home but if that doesn't happen, we'll do takeout from someplace since I won't be up to cooking yet.

My DH's birthday is on Valentine's Day

Great for me! I get presents on his birthday :rotfl2:

We will be at our son's swim meet from 6am-noon and then finals from 5pm-8pm. So probably nothing other than the swim meet!

I'm the biggest V-Day Scrooge there is. My DH must be thrilled. We're going to see Jim Gaffigan next weekend. We'll throw a dinner on top of that and call it a day.

I've never really much liked Valentines Day. My bf loves it. He always gets me flowers and sweets and some sort of present then takes me out to dinner. Our anniversary is in April so I like to just get him a little something for V-day and then something a bit better for our Anniversary (this yr will be 11yrs).

I did buy him a new drill (you really can't go wrong with tools and guys). We just moved into a new place and he thinks he is Mr.Fixit. I love the attitude but he needs to take some courses in DIY work :rotfl: We are also going to the NBA All-Star Game. I am a huge basketball fan so I told him thats what I want to do for V-day. I obviously didn't get any complaints from him ;)

DW and I are like little kids when it comes to Valentine's Day. We make up little boxes filled with candy, fun little things we found at Target, etc. Her box includes a big box of Valentine's Day Nerds, a Whitman's Sampler heart shaped box of chocolates, a Reese's heart, stuff like that. We are also going to Chili's for dinner, then going to see 'Dear John' at the movies.

It's DBF's turn to plan something for us to do, we switch off each year.

I have a card and a box Valentine Fun Dip (his favorite candy ever is the stick from Fun Dip, JUST the stick, so every year I buy him a box of the Valentine Fun Dip and he can have all but 3 or 4 sticks and I'll eat the sugar with the few sticks he doesn't eat LOL) and a $50 I Tunes GC. I gave him an I Touch for Christmas/bday (a week apart) so the GC will be good. Otherwise we just bought him a new car (09 Kia Spectra), just bought a new laptop and just upgraded the lights we have for our saltwater fish tank. LOL

He got a big box yesterday from VS, he said "that's for you" LOL So I guess I'm opening that up tonight after work. :)

Well my dh is having knee surgery tomorrow so we won't be going out. Besides, Sunday is the Daytona 500. DH, dd and I will be sitting around watching the race.

Hope his surgery goes well! :wizard:pixiedust: I had knee surgery years ago & DM had a knee replacement a few years ago so we kinda know what he's going through.
