Ladies what kind of shoes do you were to the parks?

I have problem feet and the only shoes I'll wear to WDW are Birkenstocks. So yeah, they are ugly, but my feet are happy and that's what matters.

Our next trip is this Saturday (yay!) and I'm praying for warm enough weather to be able to wear my sandals most of the time. I may have to get tacky and wear socks with my sandals. No one knows me there, so it's ok. :)

I wore Crocs most of the time on our last trip, but I did wear my running shoes as well. I wore crocs with and without socks, and I LOVED them. :)

Crocs! I wore my Beach-style Crocs at WDW all week long and absolutely loved them. Wore them without socks -- it was pretty warm to wear socks. Also, the Beach style have holes in them for your feet to breath. Love 'em! :flower:

Hooray, another passionate love/hate Crocs thread! :cheer2:

???? I wasn't aware that a thread like this existed. Just happened to come across this thread this AM and felt like offering my 2cents. :confused3

Tevas, Crocs, tennis shoes (Nike's) and KSwiss leather tennis shoes. I vary them, some trips certain shoes work then the next trip they don't. So I take them all. I also won't check my shoes in case they get lost! Once I went to Disneyland only wearing these birkenstock sandals that had always done me proud. No need to take anything else. Biggest mistake ever. I was in agony the last couple of days and for some reason they also began to stink. Dh and the kids made fun of my stinky feet so now I never travel without all my comfy shoes. The teva's seem to be the most consistently comfortable ones for me, both with and without socks.

I always feel at home in heels so I don't mind walking around in them.

But I have heard a lot of good things about Tevas. And I have worn them myself for other reasons and they are very comfortable.

Those of you that like Tevas.......what style are you talking about?

People either love them or hate them, but I love love love them! I can work on my feet all day in them and then wear them in the evening too. Dansko makes clog type and regular loafer shoes. They have a lot of support and are very light weight. They are not cheap, but will last. and can be found at Nordstroms, and fine shoe sellers. Way worth it! I spotted a couple of pairs at WDW last week. Good luck!

I think mine are called Hurricane II's. They have a black, rubbery looking sole and two velcro straps, one near the toes and one closer to the ankle. I wear them with socks when it is cooler and without in the hotter months. I also use Blister Shield roll on for my feet and carry moleskins just in case. You can find the kind of Teva's I own at most department stores or online at www.Teva.com I got mine at Famous Footwear (on my third pair).

Crocs for me too! And now Hubby swears by them. He wore sneakers the first day we were there in Oct. and the next day put on his crocs and wore them for the next 11 days! Now he's telling EVERYONE about them! He was a hard one to convince to try them, but he'd probably do and commercial for them! I personally have 4 pairs of my own. Yellow (which I wore with my Minnie costume in October), lime green, fuschia and navy. I love them! Wouldn't wear anything else to the World!

Crocs are comfortable for the most part, but some people can't wear them for long-distance walking (not enough lateral support). If you do go for crocs, avoid the Aspen model...they make your feet sweat something fierce!

For a dressier look, I usually go for my black sandals with a molded footbed (LLBean and LandsEnd both have decent, cheaper sandals for this, or Clark's). As long as you don't spend too much time walking that day, these are good for all day wear.

I wore Crocs and my New Balance tennis shoes, and my Crocs were the most comfy. It was cold when we were there, so I just wore black socks (my Crocs are black).

Yes, they are not the best looking shoes, but I bought a pair of Birks clogs and the Crocs are more comfy than the $120 Birks.

Teva Pretty Rugged Leather sandals and Teva Mush flip flops are so, so comfortable. I'm not a flip flop wearer, but the little cloth toe thingy on the Teva Mush flip flops are so soft and comfortable they have never bothered my feet.

I'm carrying Crocs to WDW again in four days, but am also carrying my old faithful, tried and true Tevas. I took a pair of Beach Crocs and two pairs of Croc Niles sandals to WDW this past May. The Niles give me my first ever blister and the Beach were just OK. In Sept my D-I-L was determined we were going to wear our Crocs, so between us we carried four pairs. She did OK in the Crocs, but my Tevas were so much more comfortable. I recently bought two pair of the Croc Aspens and plan to carry them, along with a pair of the Croc beach, and both pairs of my Tevas. I have a feeling that I'll be in my Tevas most of the time though. I give up on the Croc Niles being comfortable. I can wear them around here fine, but not in WDW.

When I read your post yesterday- I thought- oh geez, I knew that refillable mugs, and swimming at other resort's pools were touchy subjects on the DIS but CROCS??? :rotfl2: Glad to know you were joking! ;)
