I forgot to add,
what got me to thinking about this, is I am going to two luncheons with work in the coming months and will be meeting co workers I never see, so I want to look decent and not like a hillbilly. LOL
That's when I would pull out the basic tan/black skirt and a range of tops and jackets that mix and match, maybe one trendy accent piece (belt/scarf/chunky jewelry) and basic flats. Perfect for buisness lunches and will last through a multitude of "trends".
] during the summer and summer dresses), I buy my jeans from Express (on ebay), I buy most of my shirts from Ann Taylor when they're having a 40 or 50% off sale, and my work pants/shirts from New York and Company. All of my stuff lasts forever, stays in style (I don't buy trendy things), and isn't very expensive if you buy when sales/free shipping happens or off of ebay. I only spend $100-$200 a year on clothes/shoes/accessories, if that.
