I wear both, but find that capris are more comfortable if I have a sit down meal planned. Some of the restaurants are a little cool with the air-conditioning.
I do a mix of shorts and capris. I usually go in October, so it really depends on the weather. As other posters have said, it's nice to have capris for the evening, when the weather cools off a bit. But if it's hot, definitely shorts.
We went last March and I brought mostly shorts, which I ended up regretting. I wore khaki capris one day and they were MUCH more comfy.
AND when we got home and I saw the pictures, my legs looked *horrible* in shorts - I was soooooooooooo white. No tan at all.
So I'm throwing in my vote for Capris. We're going back this year in mid April, which I know will be hotter, but I'll still bring more capris to wear this trip!
ROFL @ the fanny pack chatter & about WDW fashion. Who cares what we look like as long as we're having a good time.
Heh. For me, part of having fun is looking good too. I'll admit it. I can be so terribly vain and if I feel I look less than cute, the fun I will have on a day is diminished slightly. Plus, I'll be honest, another part of fun for me when it comes to vacations like WDW and such is the shopping for clothing to wear at the parks. I do love me some shopping.
My fashion choice for the parks is culottes. I prefer to wear light weight skirts at home in the summer, but skirts and rides don't mix well. I don't like capris at all, and although longer shorts would be ok, culottes (some stores sell them as split skirts) are the coolest as they are not close to the body.
I don't wear either. I wear zip-off microfiber travel pants. Best of both worlds and now they actually are starting to come in styles that aren't utterly dowdy.
Actually, what I wear the most is a dress. Usually a one-piece pullover from Eddie Bauer or Travelsmith. There is nothing cooler or easier. Depending on the dress, with a quick change of accessories, you can actually go straight to the GF for tea or dinner.
At Busch Gardens my daughter was picked to be the star of the dolphin show when she was about four. I swear it was the dress she was in, she was cute as a bug.
