Ladies:Personal question

I was thinking, if I need to wear rubber gloves to apply the stuff......why in the hiel would I put it on my skin. And to think about putting it around the "party" skin?!?!?!? I will have to decline.

I think it has to do with getting on your nails and eating away at them. They're made of the same stuff, so if it eats away hair, it's most likely eating away fingernails too. It doesn't really make my skin smell, and I've used it on my bikini area and on my legs. It doesn't make them smell. As long as I wear gloves to put it on it's fine.

i can't use hair removers like nair....i have eczema...and absolutely horrible skin:(

do these hair remover products work efficiently? I should just get waxed....i wish it didn't hurt so much though..

If you do a search on Ebay for coochy cream you can find some!!This person has 16 ounce bottles for about what the other sites are selling the 8 ounce bottles for!!;)

For those of you that use VEET...which product do you use?

I did a search and found that they have about 6 different products out? Do you use the wax, cream, shaving cream?

I heard these things do a great job :teeth:

I can't believe some of you use your husbands razors...I have my own Mach 3....(man's razor)...something about a mans razor that blows away any womans razor I've ever used...now I just by the replacement blades, and we each have our own handle part...

I use skintimate shave cream....and when Im doing the bikini area, I use scissors to trip it all down as close to the skin as I can....this helps keep the razor from getting beat up....I load up the shave cream, and then after put baby oil on the area...hardly ever have razor burn or bumps etc.... oh- and I always use a new blade for this area....regardless of how old it might be, even if I use it for just my underarms I put on a new blade before heading south...:p

no wax for me, it kills me just to do my eyebrows!!

I use the Venus razor by Gillette, which is the female Mach 3. I've used men's razors (very nice), but I always hated the rectangular-shaped heads that manufacturers put on them and on women's razors. I would always scratch myself with the corners in tight spots. So I love the rounded area around the blades that they put on the Venus. I can shave a lot faster, without worrying about giving myself clearance around the edges of the razor head. :)

In the book, 'The New Our Bodies, Ourselves', it reads, "Shaving Pubic Hair, used to be done routinely. It is totally unnecessary. It is just one part of the male medical ritual of depolluting, purifying women. Prepping desexes us, makes us look like little girls again. Doctors believe that public hair contains germs and prepping increases the risk of infection when surface skin cells are scraped off and sometimes razors nick skin. Many hospitals have eliminated this practice or offer it as an option.’

What do you think??

I think it's neater and my hubby likes it that way. When hubby is happy, he likes to share his happiness ;)

::yes::

I suspect the folks who wrote Our Bodies, Ourselves are a little more on the major league feminist side tho..they type who feels that doing anything that might remotely make a man happy is bad for womanhood everywhere

Personally, I say shave, or don't shave...they're your pubes, you do with them what you will

I agree with this. I mean..do what is comfortable. I love waxing and I am a orrible shaver!LOL! SO I am going to get the Veet razor and try it.

But I say do whatever you like or feel better to you!

Isn't Jodie1980's quote referring to childbirth instead of shaving in general?

I like the cleaner look. Shaving and/or trimming seems cleaner to me and neccessary, especially with a swimsuit or lacy underthings.

I used the veet mousse and the rapid action lotion. (no razor) I like the mousse better, it seems to go on more even because you spray it on. But the rapid action lotion takes only like 3 min. or so, while the mousse takes about 9 min or so. So it depends on how long you've got to wait. :)

Niether one of these uses a razor? WOW! Where do you get it? I will try both. Is it a kit like waxing or do you just wipe it off with a cloth? How does it work? I am really interested..I cut myself shaving all the time and I miss spots! Even if I just take 3-9 minutes in the bathroom...I can get DH to keep the kids out. Plus is gaurentees me alone time (which I NEVER get!) LOL!

One cool mama: it's a dipilatory cream, which means it kindof dissolves the hair off. No razors, no cuts! You can get it at most drugstores or places like target/walmart etc.
