Ladies:Personal question

Just on the slightly serious side...and not to gross anyone out but why would you use hair remover thar? The fact that you can smell it on your fingers means it has soaked into your skin. And given the skin seems so much thinner down thar...that's a chemical additive to my body I can do without.

As for me when I wear a suit I just shave the parts that are exposed...except the first wearing after winter...then a little more trimming is needed. I do NOT wear a bikini but I don't wear skirts.

I use veet mousse. It works 10 times better than nair, and lasts about 3 days. Make sure to use rubber gloves if you use it, or your fingers will smell like chemicals for a week.

This thread is certainly enlightening. I've used Nair with good results in the past but have wondered about the Veet. Do all the other users of this also have the same results as battricia with the smell lasting for a week. That's making me a little nervous to try it.

Now I think most of us can agree (men and women) that we are glad you asked!

No one offened! But we all learned a lot! Good thread!

I was thinking, if I need to wear rubber gloves to apply the stuff......why in the hiel would I put it on my skin. And to think about putting it around the "party" skin?!?!?!? I will have to decline.

I can't answer this question for everyone, but I do it so as not to get those bumps (edited here, I had lumps and if anyone saw that, I did NOT mean LUMPS - rofl) that shaving gives. I come away smooth and silky in all areas. I'm going to try the Veet that has been suggested, because I do get a little rash from Nair on occasion, mostly on the bottom of my legs, but even that little rash is so much better to deal with than the bumps shaving seemed to give.

Now, I didn't try the Coochy (ROFL - did I spell that right) cream yet, but I have sat in the water and let hair soften up as has been suggested, I've also used to skintimate that someone has stated they use, and I also use my husbands (and yeah, I use his with a new blade and he does hate it. LOL) and that does give a better shave, but I sometimes still ended up with those bumps. When you shave, it really doesn't last too long either, and with the nair, it doesn't have to be done daily. It just seemed that shaving in that area daily even causes more bumps.

I'd like to try waxing, but......I have zero pain tolerance, so I don't know if I'd ever give it a shot.

I have to agree...party skin, coochy cream, taller trees....way too funny (but enightening too)!

This thread is too funny! To think, I didn't open it for a few days either....what was I thinking? LOL! :)

Am I only the second person here who uses the coochie cream? I got mine at one of the "girls only" parties that seem to be so popular now. The name of the company is "Slumber Parties". I'm pretty sure you can order it on line.

Can pregnant woman use nair, veet, or coochy cream? I usually wax, but I cant pregnant and I deliver naturally.

Has anyone used it pregnant?

I have used Nair and even though barely any hair was removed, I was left with a terrible rash!!
You know how they say leave it on for like 7 mins. then check a small area and it can be left on for up to 15 minutes? Well, I've done that and all the in between and like I said, the hair was left and so was the burning rash.

The best thing I've found is Bikini Zone. It helps me not to burn and the bumps not be so bad when I do shave which is the best thing I've found for me.

I'd love to know more about waxing. How often do you have to get it done? My face is about every 2 weeks. Would it be the same for your legs? How long does the hair on your legs have to grow first?

And though this may sound stupid, what is a brazillian wax?:confused3

A brazilian wax is ALL hair removed. Not just Bikini area...or you can leave a tiny strip of hair.

It really is a personal decision for that and before trying it you should find someone that you are really confortable with!

I think they say your hair has to grow half an inch or quater of an inch..I dont remember and I think I had to get it done every 8 weeks at first.

The more you do it the longer you can wait in between sessions. I didnt think it hurt as much as people say. I actaully miss it. But I am interested in these creams since I cant get waxed.

Ok I did a search for coochy cream and you can get it a lot of places online! Some for as little as $6. I dont think that is bad to try!

I did the search on yahoo.

I use a product called Liquid Laser that I purchased on HSN. I like because it doesn't stink up the bathroom and it works really well.

I don't know if someone posted this already, but if you shave make sure your rasor is new or sharp...with lots of shaving cream....i guess (actually i know) some people can get ingrowns terribly in that area, and it , well it stinks.

its also advice from my doctor....i think its good advice

::yes::

I don't think that was meant as a smelly remark, more like, it sucks when it happens.

Edit: you beat me to it. I was wondering about using the word sucks too. LOL
